Both last night and today’s game show how much injuries impact a game. Casey are playing 20 listed players, and quite a number of them are mature players like Daw, Brown, both Mitch and Ben, Jones, Van der Berg, Jetta and on and on. Essendon listed players are basically kids topped up with Calder kids. Very hard to compete. Last night we were relying on 2 of our starting midfield to carry all the load, given how many rotations midfielders have to do now it was a big ask. I would much prefer to be playing kids though then bringing in old players who just taking up list spots.
