Davey had his moments but yeah probably safe to suggest so.
I’d still like to see Davey off half back.
(I stand corrected but I think he spent the last quarter there)

At this stage I’d say Davey Jnr, Menzie, Lual, Shiel, Goldstein and Laverde will not be renewed. Tsatas will be traded. Draper will leave as a free agent (50/50 I’d say). Cox may be forced to retire due to concussion/medical reasons.
You mean the bloke debuting in the AFL. I’d say the coaches obviously see something in this kid. I don’t see it, but maybe it works into their plans somehow.
I thought his set shots were ok. First one the wind took it and just hit the post. Poor is a bit of an exaggeration
Tsatas has played better games but he had someone hanging off him most of the day and got his knee attended to at qtr time.
From my perspective he stuck
To his task in a contested, territory game to finish with 29.
Would be very easy for him to drop his head, not seeing that personally. He won’t get much love on here but hope he just keeps putting his best foot forward.
And that’s all he can do. Keep putting his best foot forward and bang the door down.
Gerryn is an issue. Has looked promising, and then they recruit 2 guys to play in his position and unsurprisingly he struggles. Needs some clear development guidance from the club I reckon.
I was disappointed. I wanted him to succeed However I suspect McMahons game as a full forward puts him first in line for an AFL debut in the short term, while May played the more difficult CHF role which is closer to the 2MP and Caddy roles we have seen the last 2 weeks.
But May has 18 months to get ready for AFL and I think he has massive upside given a full preseason.
I’m not sure this is a draft where you want to go that deep and pick that many players. Maybe we can get creative and add to the list in other ways.

For me McMahon is first cab off the ranks to get a debut next week. 3 goals in poor conditions plus a few nice marks. I thought Archer May competed well and also Smartt had some nice moments so you have a few to pick from. Tsatas got a lot of the ball and was our best midfielder but didn’t have a huge impact, this VFL side really does offer no midfield support. Blakiston had a few decent moments down back but it’s not the day for 200cm talls. Vigo battled against Pittonet and probably broke even or just lost the battle by a smidge but neither had massive impact.
As for the others, it was a rough day. Menzie, Davey etc just rubbish and no impact. I’m really losing hope with Davey, the guy is just too soft…
He will solve our inability to score in the first quarter… and hopefully everyone else steps up once he goes missing.
Yeah, I know, sample of two games.
Personally I’d be playing Tsatas before Parish. We need to find out if these younger players have what it takes with a decent go at it. I think Parish is cooked and have made it clear we should have traded him when he had some currency.
First crack…more like plumbers
Let’s assume we take all our picks to the draft. That’s two top ten picks plus our academy players. If Draper leaves there’s his compensation pick as well. That’s five players out of the nine already…the one’s I’ve listed are simply not worth persisting with and regardless of the draft depth we know what we’ve got with this lot and they’re not taking us to the promised land!
