Other than the 4 season-ending we only have two injuries. Both estimated as two weeks away. I suppose there is a benefit to playing bruise free footy at the senior level

Could easily mistake it for the senior team at any stage of the last couple of seasons. Should be dominant at this level, at least on paper. Some careers at stake.

Real niche but Boston Dowling out a bit stiff? Can we give Blakiston the week off?

I like a full AFL listed backline not sure how I feel about jones and Blakiston there.

Surely 16 AFL players, including very senior ones, plus that great bench of in-form VFL players, can get it done…

  • Coburg have #1 and #3 and #7 for disposals (Jack Bytel averaging 31.9, Donovan Toohey averaging 28.8, and Joel Trudgeon 26.1) AND #17 AND #19 AND #20. In a league with more than 20 teams, that’s nuts.
  • Toohey also leads kicks with 22.1 per game.
  • They have #3 and #4 for goals (Mitch Podhajski with 3, Jaydn Stephenson with 35).
  • They have the #1 marker (INGO HAMMERSMITH averaging 9.3). Yes, his name MUST be capitalised.
  • They have #4 for hit-outs (Cooper Keogh 28.1)

Should we conclude they are less than the sum of their parts?

Considering most of their oppositions best players would be in and out of their respective senior sides. It’s not really a like for like comparison.

based on the stats, Coburg move the ball by hand a lot more than we do, but also score less.

No match time details provided which was probably a good thing coz it forced me to look it up and see that it’s 10am Sunday game and on Foxtel, so can set the record option.
