Turns out if I’m ill on a Thursday evening no one cares enough to ask about or post the teams.
So belatedly and grudgingly…

2017 Rd 4 @ SkyBus Stadium: Port Melbourne 12.17 (89) d Essendon 8.14 (62)
FORM COMING IN
Port Melbourne’s (7th, 8-6) up-and-down season continued with a 27-point defeat of Coburg in Round 16 before a bye. / A 26-point loss to Collingwood two weeks ago was the fourth in a row for Essendon (8th, 7-7).
KEY QUESTION
Where does the unpredictable Borough fit in the finals picture? Port Melbourne hasn’t won or lost more than two consecutive games since Round 7, defeating Williamstown in that time but also losing to North Melbourne and Sandringham. Such rollercoaster form has it on the precipice if this match is dropped.
KEY STAT
Essendon’s ability to win the ball at stoppages hasn’t translated to wins in the last month. The Bombers are the VFL’s second-ranked team for contested possessions and clearances per game but are ranked only 10th for goals scored per inside-50 (the Borough ranks eighth).
I think we had this exact same clash scenario a couple years ago (Dawks at the G, Port at Port) and I made the extremely bad decision of going to the MCG.
We’re gonna win both games this time. You’ll have to tune into Radio 3PC instead.
