Considering the VFL is literally a development program for the AFL our scheduling is so ridiculous when you can’t actually have players play VFL and then be genuinely considered for senior selection the following week considering a 5 day turnaround. We will likely have to pull players out at half time or hold them over entirely. This game needed to be played on Friday as well.

Meh a 5 day turn around shouldn’t be a big issue for 1 or 2 players.

Looking at the seniors team, with J. Davey, Caddy and Roberts the emergencies, I’m thinking we’ve just about run out of players.
What AFL listed players are left to play VFL this week ? The 3 above named AFL emergencies plus Bryan, Hayes, Lual, Visentini, Wanganeen and Weideman.
That’s very thin. Our injury list has yet again condemned the VFL team and all who play in it to an steep uphill battle.

Weideman named at CHB 
The Bombers have been forced into three changes, with midfielder Bailey Scott to miss through injury and Oskar Smartt off to represent the Young Guns side in their clash with Vic Metro this weekend.
With Elijah Tsatas named for the AFL side this weekend, experienced midfielder Jake Moorhead returns for his first VFL game of 2024.
Saturday will see two debutants for the VFL Bombers, with youngsters Cam Nyko and Alex Molan named to don the sash for the first time.

The counter argument is that the VFL games should always be played after the AFL game so we don’t have to keep an emergency out of the VFL as backup for the AFL

If we have a injury friday night or not, imagine 1 player will be pulled at half time.
or just maybe AFL should expand list sizes.

I like cam nyko was surprised he wasn’t drafted. Quick left footer, half back, hard at it.
I’m disappointed taha isn’t getting a gig he’d be a good vfl player and his mate naim kicks goals for fun, maybe they don’t want too many young guys.
