VFL - round 7 vs Swans @ Windy Hill - 11am Saturday 10 May 2025

Looking forward to this mornings game. Couple of little story lines to follow. Backline looks a bit light on with no Hayes, Johnson or SEH drifting back so might prove troublesome for us.

Sydney’s VFL named lineup looks pretty bereft.

Elijah lining up in the first centre bounce, Cox & Clarke on the wings

Happy Gerreyn day all.

Jesus Lav.

First kick I see of lav for 2025 is an absolute boneheaded decision

Smart goal

Nice goal by Smartt, long range

Smart free kick in range

Nice work by Tsatas in the middle, got the ball to the outside with a quick handpass to set his team mate free who then kicks inside 50 to Smartt who misses the goal.

Not chipping short to contests in our d50 would be smart.
Well done by ADJ to win it back.

Why, why, why would no-one lead to O’Neil there? They all just sat back and waited to see where he was going to kick it. Lead!!

Lav getting a lot of it. Metres gained negative. H’e gone backwards and sideways every time.

That’s where the free players have been and it has allowed us to switch the play and move down the wing. The negative metres gained means nothing in that context.

Our movement up the ground has been very good, our movement inside 50 and kicks into the 50 have been poor.

We should be 4 goals up. Some terrible disposal cost us so far.

I’d like to see him look for options ahead of the ball. The faster you move it forward the better. Think Collingwood. Going sideways and backwards is all very well if there are no options in board or through the middle. At least look for them.
