VFL Semi Final vs Tasmania - Sat 5 September 11.05am

Last week I saw Jones sprint the length of the field to congratulate a team mate for a 1%er that no one had acknowledged. I don’t know how frequently he does stuff like that but could be in part why he’s been given so many chances.

Wonder if they will move it to Port Melbourne

I look at all the defenders mentioned in this post, then compare them to the aggression Harry Dean brings. This is why we have a soft reputation and are in for more tough times.

How good is it to see the VFL team playing like this! At least something has improved at the club, it’s so important for the development of the young blokes to have a competitive and decently coached VFL team.

Well done to all involved.

Go bombers VFL!

In fairness the 7plus broadcast appeared to be a tassie centric stream as all the replays on there were for Tassie games. So it was geared for Tassie fans.

What a load of sh*t.

They had the match to Tasmania (a VFL match mind you)…….. the only way for Essendon supporters to watch the game was via channel 7’s broadcast.

It is not ‘geared’ for Tasmania. It is a VFL finals game in Tasmania, where one group of supporters can’t get to.

The ABC take their broadcasting very seriously. It simply wouldn’t have happened on an ABC broadcast.

This might explain the bias a bit more. Poor of channel 7 not to provide a more neutral commentary.

Yep, who gives a stuff if they’re catering for a Tasmanian audience. It was completely unprofessional and unacceptable.

So where was the “Essendon broadcast” for an Essendon/Victorian audience?

Absolutely pathetic by 7.

Simply not good enough.

The fact they refused to play Essendon highlights at the end of the match…. And went straight to Tasmania highlights. Was the final straw.

All that we to lose to us a team in finals with a % under 100. And you out in straight sets

“Press Red for Inbred” for the Tassie audience out there watching the broadcast.

Even all of the commercials were Tassie based.

Fark people are a bit sensitive.

It was slightly annoying (almost comical) during the game, but we are getting a free stream of a VFL game played in Tasmania direct to our TVs.

Plus we won.

Who bloody cares.

And then today we get this Tasmanian Devil who didn’t enjoy the result it seemed.

Love this. It’s so much sweeter when you get under their skin. Just wait for the day we turn it around in the big stuff.

One of the other upsides of this VFL finals run is that Spike is getting a (minimum) 3 week look at the bottom half of the list before we make delisting / extension decisions.

Most of us that were born in Tassy and saw where the place was going got out at the first opportunity. There was always a bit of a concern for the mentality of the unfortunates left behind. So Blitzers should not take the sad cries coming out of that place to heart. Seriously though, Tassy is a great place to visit for a short while. Wonderful wine, good food, magnificent scenery, and great fishing — good for a short holiday. And there are some nice folks down there, so dont waste time listening to the whiners.

Pessimism and gloom are built in & bred into a lot of the folks down here. Pt Arthur was not so much of a prison and ended up a lunatic asylum. Lots of folks there would rather be somewhere else … thus the bitterness.
