VFL - week 1 finals vs Richmond @ Punt Road, 2:10pm Saturday 31 August 2019 - on telly

Snelling, then they took him off for the rest of the game.

Long was very good for most of it, but he struggles with consistency throughout games.

Would Snelling be a chance to face eagles?

Nankervis played well

He is in my side

I assume that is why they rested him after HT.

He’d have to be a huge chance.

If he doesn’t play then the coaches seriously need to be sacked for taking him off in such an important game.

Someone should’ve kicked him in his groin

Just read whole thread. Didn’t know result. What a farking roller coaster with a massive dip at the end.

There is absolutely NO chance snelling doesn’t play seniors after being pulled from a VFL final halfway through

I said it in his thread too, but the fact a silly free in the ruck was even able to change the outcome of the game shouldn’t have been allowed in the first place.

Rubbish, we play a game in 5 days. VFL means jack ■■■■. We give ourselves the very best chance of winning the ones which means having a squad of players ready to go depending on a number of scenarios. Jok, Ridley, Snelling who ever. Hold them over. Perhaps none of them play but they’ll be ready if we need them and not stepping into a final against last years premiers off a 5 day break because of some meaningless VFL final.

It’s the old Scouts rule, …

"It’s far better to have it, & not need it, … than to need it, & not have it"

right, finals are meaningless to this club, a club that has barely had any finals success in 20 years

Had the game on in the background so didn’t see a lot of it. I did notice very long quarters in the 2nd and 4th tho, were they similarly long in the 1st and 3rd when WE had the breeze? ( honestly don’t know). If not, was there an obvious reason why the quarters were so long when they had the breeze? I.e. did we play a style against the breeze that resulted in a lot of time off?

There were various brawls, 6-6-6 exercises and blood rules to slow things down.

Not to mention Richmonds unbroken run of umpteen Goals …

Yes, VFL finals are meaningless.

And it doesn’t matter how shitful the last 15, 20 or 100 years have been. You set up as best you can to win an AFL final against West Coast in Perth in 5 days time. Not a VFL final at Punt Road against a team captained by Steve Morris.

Yeah totally

he played in the last qtr, barely did anything else.

also he was playing against a bush league player (no offence to the guy but in reality he’s a stop gap since draper went down and clarke rarely seems to play vfl level) and a backman who is forced to play as back up ruck.

god i hope he gets picked against brissy and gets shown up for what it was today, an afl ruckman playing against a suburban league player.
