Come on, Fark Carlton. They trail Sandy 14-17 with 15 minutes left, but only one of these teams is a chance of playing finals.
We won’t pass Sandy on percentage, but equal on wins would be nice.
LOL, 1 point for the entire final quarter (to Sandy).
FCFC lose, we get to beat them next week, and Sandy are struggling to beat bad teams.
All those people who were saying Norf and the Pies were the only valid choices for the Grand Final can get stuffed.
Unfortunately the Pies face Darebin next week, so might drag themselves back up to 50% wins and 100% percentage.
Geelong having a red hot go at Willy in the cold in front of no one.
Whiting is saving Willy over and over.
(And as soon as I wrote the above, Willy goaled to lead 14-7)
Geelong applied 123 tackles in their 80-minute 17-64 loss!
The good news is Norf have been the clearly better team vs the Hawks, though they only lead 27-19 at halftime so the result is far from locked in.
Maybe Box Hill remain downhill skiers who destroy weak teams but struggle versus better ones.
My modelling/forecasting of the rest of the season will be more interesting if the Hawks don’t go undefeated… though there might be a large gap between the top 5/6 and the rest.
The bad news is… scratch that, as I typed those words power was resumed after ~8 hours!
Werribee (the team we knocked off the top of the ladder last week) now lead ladder-leaders Box Hill by 45-20… excellent.
(We play the Hawks in rounds 7 and 12)
Willy-Port 21-22 a minute into the second half.
Ladder-wise we’d prefer Willy to limp over the line. Not win well, because we are yet to play them.
And then Bromage goes CLUNK at the top of the goal square to make it 21-28
Footscray are still using AFLW players (this week versus Norf).
