VFLW - non-Essendon matches

Eek. Norf lead Port 29-0 at halftime.

That makes EFC > Norf + Pies > Hawks + Port > EFC

Was 0-12 against them in the third quarter, but in the opening minute of the last quarter Dojiok just embarrasses everyone to kick her third goal.

35-12 Werribee lead

Emily Hurley of FCFC kicks the first goal in the match versus Sandy.

Yay?

At halftime, Sandy have scored the next 20 points. Looking like we’ll be fifth after this round (but still extremely likely to finish the season above Sandy).

Meh, Norf. Come back when you beat the Dogs 98-0.

Ten minutes left, FCFC AFLW team losing to Pies VFLW.

Also, WTF at FCFC wearing a pro-clash jumper at Vic Park.

Ump pays a deliberate against the Pies with 15 seconds left (probably technically there, but not usually paid as the player is bundled over the line)… the ball is in the air as the siren blows, with FCFC slotting the goal from hard on the boundary.

FFS!

(Ladder-wise, this means nothing – the top three should have a decent margin on 4th.)

Port have smacked Willy 58-27, which makes the percentage difference separating 6th (them) and us (7th) a fair chunk smaller… we need to continue our record against Darebin tomorrow.

Fark Carlton playing 12 AFLW players against Footscray. They dropped their VFLW captain to make space.

This is wrong! It is so unfair to the girls who turn up every week for VFLW.

They pushed the VFLW later and the AFLW earlier, and STILL are seeing a rise in the abuse of the overlap.

Footscray add five AFLW players including HARDINGHAM vs Port Melbourne. Relevant to us because we and Port play them in the final two rounds and a slip-up by either of us may determine ladder spots.

Port get Ashley-Cooper and Harley back, though.

FCFC managed to find space for their VFLW captain, but not before she was knocked off the top of some league stats for the year.

IN: M. Austin, L. Burke, O. Di Donato, D. Di Santo, E. Horne, R. Maslin, S. McCarthy, E. Sbeghen
OUT: T. Bohanna, Y. Duursma, M. Fuller, B. Harrington, L. Keck, K. Skepper, D. Vescio, E. Wood

On the other side, Darebin some KEY injuries:

N. Callinan (shoulder), B. Gray (hamstring)

It seems a lot of Werribee players are refusing to travel interstate (Casey)!

IN: T. Cowan, A. Gerada, S. Hosking, M. Purcell, K. Reynolds, C. Ryan, A. Tupper, C. Ugle

OUT: C. Blair, E. Jackson, S. Reid, R. Tierney, S. Ingram, A. Ling, T. Meier (omitted), K. Ternes (omitted)

Hmmmm, Geelong pushing the Pies hard.

Just missed a running shot at goal, trail 21-25 approaching three quarter time.

FCFC (about one-third AFLW-listed) are losers, and can not make finals.

Port host an AFLW-smattered Footscray from 4pm.

Willy should get splattered by the Hawks tomorrow, and Norf next week. We could lose to the Dogs next week and still very likely pass Willy on percentage… but let’s not do that.

Worth noting Geelong brought in four Falcon juniors today.

Respect for their work over the season, finally paying off and winning this would be amazing… ■■■■, Pies goaled as I wrote that.

21-31

Pies losing might help us NOT play them in the first week of finals.

Pies now smashing them.

Crook playing forward for Footscray!

The one time she did that for us (vs Darebin, last H&A game of 2021 when Tahlia Gillard debuted) she goaled early then did no more.

Correction: her first goal was versus FCFC earlier in that year.

6-6 early on.

Come on Dogs!
