CarrissBrett wins the clearance, side steps, and hits up the leading Perkins.
And BANG.
52-15
This might be our biggest score since 2022?
Manfre repeat contested wins. Throw in, our pocket.
Jordan tackled high AND low within a second.
Not paid.
Chaston set shot from outside fifty…
Everyone follows Perkins, and Jordan marks at the back of the pack one metre out on her own.
LOL.
Goal.
58-15 with 30 seconds left on the clock.
9.4.58 defeats 1.9.15
Shaw on her knees doing the “not worthy” to Jordan
Thanks for the commentary

FCFC are clearly not Port Melbourne-level, but today addressed a bunch of questions and issues. That resulted in us beating our top score last year by 16.
Pressure remained excellent.
Our backline was excellent (more on that later).
Mids didn’t win, but they got closer and we were rotating lots of players through there.
Forwardline worked! Perkins didn’t have huge numbers and “only” kicked two goals, but her presence was significant. That last play where the pack all jumped into/over her and Jordan got to take a simple chest mark and goal was textbook everything I’ve been going on about Manfre not being able to be THE “big” forward.
Liv buzzed around Perkins to rove a few times, too.
I’ve captured some of the rotations today in my live coverage, but very likely not all. I can nearly pick them all out now…
Comments on many but not all players:
- Amy Cariss-Brett - did pretty well through the midfield. Decent speed, clean.
- Sarah Ford - I didn’t have a problem with her disposal today. Gets plenty of it.
- Kyla Tracey - well on her way to claiming a non-key position
- Emily Tassiopoulos - ideally we want a small forward, but she’s mobile and applied decent pressure. Similar size and role as Richardson.
- I’ve got little to say on the rucks at this point. When we get more KPPs back (i.e. Maddi Ford and Christina Bernadi) it will be interesting to see what we do with the three rucks who have played these two weeks.
- Drew Ryan - primarily wing, but cameos elsewhere. Busier than usual.
- Jayda Richardson - back-to back goals and was a decent mobile option
- Sarah Perkins - just getting started
- Tyla Crabtree - got some inside mid time. Clean.
- El Chaston – rotated mid and back. Good game.
- Karly McNeice & Maddison Shaw – they’ve got a pretty good claim to two of the backline spots.
- Sophie Molan - BOG. Fark Carlton were crazy letting her sit loose in the third quarter. I guess this could also be a vote for the coach(es) not repeating what they did in the first quarter.
- Dani Marshall - not a full game? But geez, her and Ford and Molan you’d back against any team.
- Ruby Mahony - goal-kicking inside mid/jet outsider
- Marnie Robinson - quieter today, but surely we don’t need her plus the three above; so the first obvious change is Molan moving further down the ground.
“aflwvflwphotos” was there.
Chaston weaving through traffic:
Molan feeding it out:
Inside mid collects…
… and jet outsider scoots off.
When you are on the ground, everyone is the same height!
If the club doesn’t hurry up, Brendan Rhodes may be first to publish it in the coming days at vfl.com.au.
Only a few clubs have announced their lists so far, despite finalisation day passing last Tuesday.
I reckon the VFLW Squad thread is very close to 100% complete (but does not include any draft-age U18s… bring in Lou Painter and Chloe Baker-West already).
I don’t think anyone cares enough to have documented the VFL team
