The good news is that, especially if Melbourne continues to stack the Casey team even just for one more week, FCFC could finish last.
- Casey need to beat Geelong at home next week and then not get their percentage trashed in the final three weeks (Pies, Norf, Port).
- Geelong then need to steal a win vs Sandy (only two goals this week in perfect conditions) or Darebin (one this week).
- FCFC have the Pies, Dogs, Darebin, and Hawks. Dogs and Darebin can beat them, and the other two should reduce their already crap percentage.
Thanks to this game against Melbourne AFLW instead of the winless Casey, I predict we’ll finish seventh (on percentage) rather than fourth. But losing to Port in round one despite domination, and Willy last week, were the moments we actually controlled that might lead to us missing finals for the first time since 2019.
