EFC did good live coverage today. And we might even get a game report this week!
Goals:
- This was the first time Liv Manfre has kicked 3 goals for us. Had kicked 2 goals three other times.
- Amy Caris-Brett (note correct spelling! OMG) kicks her first EFC goal in her third game.
- Tay Hart-Aluni also debuts as a goaler, in her seventh game. I knew she had a lot more points than goals, but I thought she’d managed to convert something already.
- Davidge is our leading goal-kicker this year, with 7 from 10 games.
Footy is a funny game. Last week was right down there historically for worst result, and with much the same level of team we bounce back to roll the reigning premiers at their home (and Norf kick just one goal versus the Pies… WTF, and that’s an angry WTF).
Molan, Mahony, and Chaston led the way, and we had some real individual improvements. Loved Prpic’s game in defence – asked to play on a zippy type, and gave her nothing. Gallagher was better than expected; her rucking wasn’t complicated, but it was much more effective than in the pre-season. Manfre had three real classy goals to set the tone in the first half.

Our win was worth 3 ladder spots. Casey are pretty much irrelevant to us now – a game and huge percentage behind us, and we have two relative gimmes in the last four rounds.
And yes, Darebin ARE on three wins! They paddled Casey 49-28 to go back-to-back-to-back.
25 disposals and a goal for Gogos (give her the medal already) and 3 goals and 14 disposals for DeMatteeeeeeoooooooooo!
The other Sunday game was less interesting: Willy 13.11.89 beat Geelong 0.3. Teagan Brett had 16 disposals and kicked 4.1
We play both of these teams in our final four H&A games.
Saints are bottom of the ladder and in recent weeks have narrowly lost to Footscray, Port, Hawks, and Norf. Brutal.
