Brendan Rhodes confirms to me that this WAS Chaston’s 50th game: the four with Collingwood VFLW were missed.
Phew.
Second VFLW captain to reach 50 games at Box Hill (Ugle was the first).

Cats lead Sandy 12-0 in the first quarter.

- Chaston had an epic game as full-time mid, and we’re horribly missed McDonald in recent weeks.
- Ava scored horribly for efficiency; I find that hard to believe, and she more than made up for it on the numbers, being ranked 3rd-most fantasiest across both teams.
- Ava and El topped contested possessions; Abbey topped uncontested. But all three played balanced games.
- If our forward line was as efficient as today (even without substantial input from Tia), we’d have won a lot more games this year. Some great kicking to leads.
- Jordan, sFord and The Loose Goose were game-top for score involvements with 4 apiece (Ava also scored 1.2).
- Manfre and Ryan took a while, but back in efficient form (our top two, and Manfre with the two goals).
- MFord game-leading 7 marks, near the top (6) for intercept possessions. Ahead of her on 7 intercepts were Klaumanns-Moller and their van Berkel and Embleton.
- Thompson tied for game-leading 8 tackles (Collingwood of the Hawks the other).
- We had the top three clearance-getters: Chaston 5, and McDonald and sFord 4.
- Exact same for game-leading inside fifties: Chaston 5, and McDonald and sFord 4.
- Could have done with Hobbs in the ruck today as Prince just couldn’t get over their big lump… but their dominance in the hit-outs went nowhere.

Cats lead 25-12 at half-time.
Remaining games:
- EFC vs Sandy (if the above continues and we beat Sandy, we’re half a game behind them going into the final round)
- EFC vs Footscray
- Sandy vs Norf
Basically, if the Cats win today (or maybe even draw) then us reaching finals is once again fully under our control… because Werribee WILL beat Sandy.

Other ways to make finals:
- Port lost 33% today despite two late goals to “only” lose 20-102. They are half a game ahead of us but unfortunately they have Footscray and Casey to finish the season. Can they drop one of those for us?
- Willy play Darebin (tomorrow), but will then likely lose to the Hawks and the Pies. If they beat Darebin it could come down to percentage. If they lose to Darebin, that’s a second very large opportunity for us to make finals.
