Can confirm C-Bomb will be our pre-game show guest at around 9:30am
People write utter rubbish sometimes (I’ll be kind and not name this person):
One thing that will work in the Saints favour is that they are the home side this time around, and the conditions at Trevor Barker are much more different to that at the Hangar.
Yeah… it was absurdly windy at Tulla, and it will be calm and rain-free at Sandy.
Pls.
Essendon changes since the last time we met (round 5). Big changes, quality and position-wise. We lost the clearances last time (28-30), which is rare and that’s why we didn’t win.
OUT | IN | Comment |
---|---|---|
Ashley-Cooper | Ayre | do we need to match up a gaint forward? |
Manfre | Dicker | kicks more goals, gets more touches midfield, kills more people |
Davies | Nanscawen | fair to say our midfield is better than last time |
McIntosh | Barba | again, sacrificing forwards for mids |
Caruso | DiDonato | more dynamic back flanker? |
Cornish | Everist | same height of 177cm |
I was going to list the Saints changes since round 5, but they’ve pulled a swifty and have named McLean both on the full back line and on the bench. So they have 7 outs and 6 ins.
OUT:
2 - L. Burke - AFLW 179cm defender
7 - N. Wallace
13 - M. Bertuna
21 - T. Boyd
24 - K. Ripari
26 - C. Saultry
47 - T. Meyer - AFLW midfielder
IN:
22 - S. Black
57 - A. Woodward - 170cm AFLW midfielder
1 - C. Slater
5 - M. Capsalis
29 - M. Fogas
50 - C. Ryan
As noted, Fogas makes it two ex-Bombers up against us (Bec Neaves being the other one). The former played 13 games with us in 2019 and the latter all 14 in 2018.
Is that English?!
I was being very kind by not mentioning that part of it.
Quite unlike me.
It seems the “unavailable (1 week)” Macdonald got stuck in a footy-season wedding. How rude of the bride.
AshleyCooper hamstring query must be very minor: is running laps.
Ground is dewy.
CBomb was running laps earlier too.
Says she’s very almost cooked? Hoping to squeeze in a final or two before retiring, this year?
Hoping to keep a non-playing role at the club (strength and conditioning coach?)
Ugle wants me to worship the sun.
To be fair, she wants everyone to worship the sun.
Everist and DiDonato struggling with the balance games we do early in the warmup.
Kendra sensibly wearing long socks, pulled up.
Everist is a pretty close match to Crook physically; got the long legs, but perhaps a bit more heft up top.
Saints two late withdrawals.
Fogas coming back six months after falling off a horse.
