VFLW - Round 14 vs Footscray @ Footscray, 4pm Saturday 10 August 2019 - streamed

I’ll concede the light here is better than at that Punt Road death trap.

Dunno if any reportable sniping was captured on the VFL stream.

And now, to head to the third nasty loss for the day (that’s what el Presidente has predicted).

Stats are up. Of the four notable disposal-getters, that’s Nanscawen (bulldozer) and Audley (classic tiny rover, with some niggle) in the midfield, and Patrikios (best 18yo in the country?) and Heil (for a key defender she’s tiny compared to some) rebounding as much as they can.

McIntosh (eighth) is the first forward listed there.

The tackle column is an instructive one to look at.

Oh dear wheels have fallen off at Bimberland

Another 100 point loss, we’ll as good as.

Damage control

Calder Cannons captain Georgia Patrikios demonstrated exactly why she’s in line to be a high selection at the 2019 NAB AFLW Draft with a hard-nosed performance in Essendon ’s loss to the Western Bulldogs. Despite the Bombers falling by 44 points, Patrikios recorded 21 disposals and 11 tackles as well as game-highs of 17 contested possessions and seven clearances.

As I predicted, Footscray’s first goal got the Play of the Week, because Stassi wasn’t playing for us. Boooooooooo!

“4 years later”… thread bump. Photo posted by victim Dani Marshall.

Four-person commentary and slow-motion replay of the tackle a few minutes later… AwFuL regressing every league they get their fingers on.

That video includes special guest Courtney Ugle on commentary in the second half (Bonnie Toogood played that role in the first half).

Courtney already loves Alana (in her second game for us).

Lauren Spark also playing against us. And Emma Mackay. And Sophie Molan. And Jesse Davies is an emergency for them.

Kendra has her socks pulled all the way up.

The scary thing is we failed to kick a goal, and it was still a better performance than the VFL beforehand and the AFL afterwards on this Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.

(VFL 35-139 and AFL 33-137, all vs the Dogs)

Courtney has always loved saying “the gurls”.
