You should have heard my scream of WHAT?!? when I saw the first OUT…

Only slightly mollified by having a Puruntatameri playing an official game for Essendon.

L. Ahrens is not on our list and there is already a #46 in Gloria Elarmaly. Please explain @Catherine_Lio!

There was a Lauren Ahrens who played for Melb Uni and/or Southern Saints last year: she is 27yo and 182cm.

Same, when I saw the name for the first out. I hope the Stassi injury is short term.

Well, here’s half of the answer (RIP Gloria), from an article that went up late today:

Anderson is an inaugural member of Brisbane’s AFLW side and has since starred in the top league, culminating in an All-Australian selection and Lions Best and Fairest victory this year.

The ball-magnet averaged 21 disposals a game in the 2019 season and has proven durable in her three years at AFL level, playing in all 23 possible games.

Ahrens arrives after playing 13 VFLW games for Melbourne University last year and is set to add good size and strength to the side, with marking a clear strongpoint.

The new Bombers are available for selection for the side’s clash with Geelong in Colac on Saturday, with the side to be revealed on Thursday evening.

There will be a radio call at:

They appear to be covering ALL of the Geelong VFL and VFLW games. Nice, apart from picking a ■■■■ team.

Geelong get the first goal of the game.

And the 2nd.

Kate Darby has both.

Geelong get the second goal of the game.

Uh oh.

(What wind there is mostly across the ground.)

Free kick Essendon.

19yo debutant Eloise Ashley-Cooper has a set shot… POSTER.

Darby has kicked 3 goals in 7 minutes.

New strategy… sit 3 people on Kate Darby.

At quarter time it’s EFC 0.2.2 vs Cats 0.1.1 vs Kate Darby 3.0.18

We’re getting hammered in GREEN TIME.

Stepnell a point.

3-25

Fifty metre penalty sets up an instant response.

Come on Bombers! Give us some red and black time…

(Scoreboard may be wrong; radio calling us on 4 points.)
