Albrecht does have a bit of the devil inside her.

Within 35m there is no one you would prefer taking a shot for us.

LOL at commentary calling Plummer’s 55m a “hack”. No, that’s the kind of kick that freaks defenders out!

Didn’t get to see much of this one but that is a hell of a win.

Well, it should have been forty. Dead-straight run-in but on the angle so she could kick so close to the mark! Not that she needed to do that, through post-high.

Also, they only knew the AFLW players were being pulled on Tuesday.

LOL, most significant win of the season (for any team) and we’ve slid down the ladder.

But we’ve got Fark Carlton, Casey, and the Cats up next.

Let’s ■■■■■■■ go!

QUARTER ONE

  • Plummer’s kicking is a weapon, but geez what a pluck by Bernadi over the Charlie Brown.
  • No Pigz on commentary this week, so a less dramatic reaction :frowning:
  • The next surge forward is less successful but great teamwork: Abbey handball out of congestion to Jordan, slick transfer to our mobile ruck in Prince for the long kick, great contested win by little Albrecht.
  • Audio mix awful; no game noise.
  • Flood a bit more, Norf.

  • 4:20 for Courtney getting falconed… and going straight back into it to get the ball cleared.
  • 5:10 for Bernardi absolutely mocking the Norf defender. You can go to Hobbs or to Jordan, but not both. That’s EFC goal #1 for Sienna.
  • Melnikas and Davidge interchange on, and go to the centre contest. Abbey had rotated forward, but comes up to the consequent repeat stoppages.
  • 7:55 Hobbs doesn’t even consider taking the bouncing ball with both hands. Has skillz.
  • 9:05 Old Richo would have murdered her opponent there and got suspended. Nice bump to win the ground ball.
  • 9:55 lack of ground audio obscures why MFord comes over the mark to concede fifty (was reacting the to the ump’s whistle).
  • 11:35 Through to here it had been Lily Bateman on Dojiok. How we now (and later) have Porter on her is ■■■■■■■ bizarre. Not fast enough AND not physical enough. Having said that, she gets the one-two by leaving Dojiok… and then kicks it out of bounds for the turnover.
  • 12:05 MFord intercept mark (thankfully; Dojiok had a two metre gap on Porter). Long kick to the middle where Tia stands strong in the tackle to get it out to Albrecht. Three handballs by Albrecht to move it forward 40 metres (first two were botches, but she just kept going), and it’s B-B-B-Benno and the Jets time.
  • Albrecht’s disposal is… variable, but I love love love her game. Working so hard inside AND having pace = things happen.
  • 13:50 MFord does a PERFECT Jobe Watson under-the-arms bounce handball
  • 15:05 see my previous comment about Old Richo getting suspended. Shows restraint when the Norf plays thrusts their head at her, gets the ball.
  • 16:20 Molan now on Dojiok; Porter initially does well in the contest but then handballs straight to Werribee on the outside. Sarah Ford lagging behind makes Molan piggie-in-the-middle, and Dojiok goals.
  • Hobbs in for the last centre contest of the quarter. She gets the whiteout and then gets the clearance: long kick to frighten the Norf defenders. Would have been perfect except for the bounce off Richo’s breadbasket.
  • 18:25 Porter on Dojiok :rage: – luckily El applied enough midfield pressure to result in the turnover kick to Azzopardi.
  • 18:35 Albrecht three-effort play that ends up with us getting the ball  (well, it was four efforts, but the handball out of the pack came after the free had been paid to Richo).

QUARTER TWO

  • Porter is “on” Dojiok. Trails her on the lead, then lets her get out the back and shoot “at” goal. On the full
  • Prince is doing great contested work this quarter.
  • 6:20 Centring kick by Orritt; Ibrahim collects and lobs it in. Hobbs reads it better than Hales and GOAL.
  • Now we start a ~34 minute period without a goal.
  • 8:30 Three botches by Porter in 25 seconds… to be actually fair, a successful joint tackle in there too.
  • 13:55 Porter on Dojiok; luckily the ball doesn’t bounce up as Dojiok runs into goal.
  • 15:00 as I said, ground sound is badly muted, but the unrequited roar of BALL for the second tackle here was huge for something at the far end.
  • 15:35 WTF are you doing, Porter? Absolutely nowhere near Dojiok. Luckily she kicks like… well, Dojiok.
  • 16:50 the crowd get their BALL reward.
  • The Marnie knee (just protecting herself) into the ribs of a rapidly-arriving Dojiok is very effective. Ump really should have stopped play.

QUARTER THREE

  • Two good bits by Tia, and then Richo a jumping CLUNK against two Kangaroos.
  • Lily is back ON Dojiok.
  • 3:00 Porter is “on” Blair… well, trailing her to the mark by 10 metres.
  • 3:40 Tassiopoulos, you gotta commit to contests like that better.
  • Just dogged competition from both teams here. Azzopardi and Lily doing just enough to stop them scoring.
  • 8:00 In the back, my arse.
  • 10:00 LOL, head-on contest for the ball between Teeny Albrecht and Big Lump Reynolds; Reynolds blinks, and Maddy wins.
  • 10:40 Nobody saw Tia bump the Roo in the head, right? The ump certainly didn’t
  • 13:45 front-on contact for a defender doesn’t count, unless the forward is Peter Wright. Molan bravely gets herself poleaxed. Ump briefly holds back the resumption of play while runners attend to her; thank you, ump.
  • 15:00 that is NOT opportunity. Wow.
  • 15:50 After Tierney fails to kick the (winning) goal, MFord does the one-two and kicks all the way to centre wing to hit Plummer. NICE. Almost ends up C2C, but Bernadi fumbles the final mark.
  • 17:30 There’s a 30 second sequence that ends in a point, but the value is how we scrap to get the ball back and then keep moving it cleanly under immense pressure.
  • Jordan is winning me over. She is a little ball of power. At 18:35 the whole grandstand (and Chaston) go BALL. Commentator then calls the crowd “a little bit… troppo”.
  • 19:35 Hobbs robbed of another point so that Tassiopoulos can kick a replacement point.

QUARTER FOUR

  • Porter hobbling a minute in, after Dojiok runs through her.
  • 2:50 Azzopardi… brilliance, then capitulation. Goal conceded, we trail for the first time all game and OH ■■■■ WE’RE GONNA LOSE. Wales and MORCS look on, worried.
  • It’s going to be a long 12 minutes until the next score, especially for the nuffie in the grandstand who now starts saying we have “one chance left” (many more than one times).
  • 5:40 Dojiok beats Porter.
  • Tag-team tackling at 8:00 and 8:50 rewarded. We are NOT going away!
  • Yes, the Bowls Club is actually in action. Very rare.
  • 11:50 Porter three botches in 13 seconds. Luckily, Werribee kick it out on the full.
  • 12:35 BALL… yes! I loved this troppo crowd.
  • Norf look more dangerous in this quarter than any other… but we scrap on.
  • 15:30 Porter kicks straight to the Norf forward… who stumbles over the ball.
  • 15:35 This time, Tassiopoulos commits and forces a stoppage.
  • Prince tap to Sarah Ford, who squirts a quality handball out of the pack to Tassiopoulos. Emily’s kick is wonky but Richo beats multiple opponents and gets it to Plummner streaming down the spine. 55 metre “hack" kick,Tia keeps her feet, Tia kicks, TIA GOALS!!!
  • I am so annoyed that the audio isn’t giving due credit to The Troppos.
  • THREE MINUTES LEFT.
  • Repeat pressure, out of bounds on our forward flank.
  • TWO MINUTES LEFT.
  • HANDY FREE. Could have been taking the legs, but the Norf player lazily whacked Melnikas in the head before body and legs could meet.
  • Azzopardi and Plummer flailing their arms and screaming SLOW IT DOWN. Thirty seconds later, after Chaston intercept marks a Norf kick, they’re both doing that again. Chaston is motioning “push forward, create congestion for me to kick to”.
  • ONE MINUTE LEFT.
  • Richo does the long lead for the “easy” mark on the wing.
  • Her kick hits a huge pack, and Abbey rips the Norf player to the ground for the stoppage.
  • WE WIN, and the bench sprint out to celebrate.
