VFLW - Round 5 vs Port Melbourne @ The Hangar, 10:30AM Sunday 28 March 2021 - video stream from 10:25

LOL at me screaming for Frew to keep going there.

After running fifty, the kick on the angle skewed right.

Argh.

Nalder back on. Old lady CBomb a nice contested mark.

Nattie was on her own forward for a moment. Sadly the stoppage was very stopped, and Port eventually noticed.

Ah, ol’ unco Nalder…

But now Frew centres nicely to Theodore.

Hits the inside of the goal post…

20-38

Mackay has wing all on her own; runs a long way, then kicks to dis-advantage.

Mark mark mark; Port having a set shot.

Tamsin pack marks on the line to keep the game alive.

Davies does not have the last quarter endurance of Monaghan. Beaten to it.

Do these Umps actually know any of the Rules?

I put my hand up and Theodore kicks straight for it. Cancelled out any crosswind.

26-38

Hard work by Barba to set that up.

About four minutes left.

EDIT: forgot stream people can see score and time better than me…

Chuot moved forward, is dangerous there too.

Kendra runs to bench after a scare. AshleyCooper comes on.

Looked like she KO’d herself there for a tick.

Handy point, but likely too late. Two poor attacks by Mackay this quarter.

4.3.27 loses to 6.2.38

Boooo

Ha, re: commentary, Mackay does not get free on the wing due to “coming off the bench”.

It’s just what she does.

I’m sure you’ve already answered this @theDJR , but how far off AFLW standard are we?

You’re asking the wrong question. Every AFLW team would kill every VFLW team.

Yes, we have a few very experienced players, but us demonstrating we have the team and coaching to hang with (or beat) teams with lots of current AFLW players is important.

We only needed a tad of luck in today’s last quarter to at least draw, despite Port’s midfield and half back line being dominant for much of the game. Four really good chances in that last quarter resulted in just one scrape-on-the-inside-of-the-post behind.
