GWS recruit Tanya Hetherington and Calder Cannons players Molly Warburton and Carla Rendelmann have been named to take on the Hawks at Box Hill City Oval this Sunday from 11.45am.

Hetherington was drafted by the Giants with pick 17 for the 2018 AFL Women’s season and played every game as a defender, establishing herself as a key pillar in her side’s rise up the ladder.

17-year-olds Warburton and Rendelmann are among the youngest members of Essendon’s list and were recently selected in the Vic Metro squad.

Essendon began the season against Hawthorn at Windy Hill, with the Hawks prevailing by 39 points. The match will be the team’s first double-header with Essendon’s VFL Men’s side, which will play against Box Hill at 2.10pm.

Yep, RSN Carnival on ya digital radio, rsn.net.au/digital-radio (from 11am) and at the ground DJR can listen on 89.1 FM… and I’ll try to get rid of the hum if I can!

Crowd of around 100 here early. Bit of frost/rain over night making the ground wet, but still in good nick

Those 100 people came in 300 cars, going by parking in nearby streets.

Arrive early and walk in free.

89.1, if broadcasting, is entirely overwhelmed by 88.9 (?)

Not a good start: tap, run ten, kick to leading CHF, kick to FF. Two marks and goal.

Ummm… there’s a blonde girl in #5…

Yes it is, saved $10!

I don’t think it’s Stephanie.

Ugle getting left hand checked.

Boosted the power now DJR, try now

Nope. Standing at bench, where are you broadcast from?

Ugle strapped up, back on

Scratch that DJR, just had to drop the 89.1 FM power again due to the hum

#1 Trend smashed in marking contest, staff run on but before they arrive the ball comes back and she pulls her sorry corpse up and flings it headfirst into another contest.

Snap goal from pocket for them.

Moreau mark and goal from thirty.

Decent contest forward but we struggle to pass CHF. Their rebound is intercepted by Moreau. Kick from forty is just short.
