The stream says 15 - 32
Goal umps seemed happy with 33???
Thanks again for commentary.
Five in a row. Hurrell gets her first win with us.
LOL at Nee Nee’s happy little dance at the end.
I wrote that before getting to this tweet:
In the other game, Footscray did not “just lose”. They got smashed by FCFC 45-9.
We made up 18% on the Hawks today (the only other team with a draw, so relevant to us). We are still 19.5% behind them, but they have a much harder set of games to come (vs FCFC, Norf, Willy, Cats, Casey, and Saints). There is a chance they won’t make finals – but they control their destiny by playing four of those teams currently above them.
We are top of the ladder in the VFL app, but fourth on the AFL website (which quietly uses match ratio). We can not drop below fourth this round, and if any of Geelong (vs Darebin), Port (vs Saints) or Pies (vs Norf) lose we go past them.
Guessing we’ll end up third after tomorrow’s games (Port and Pies the most vulnerable). We need to bank wins NOW because the last month and finals is gonna be hard.
We won the hit-outs 47-29 but lost the clearances 23-26… and then won inside fifties 33-22.
Hawks a bit weird in scoring from 10 of their 22 entries, but not feeling dangerous. Their entries were horrendous, and we deserve some credit for that.
We lost the free kicks 7-17 to the Hawks…
We had a relatively low number of tackles (but good pressure across the last three quarters), losing that 56-79.
Manfre finally gets beyond 1 goal for a game – but that mark in the last quarter at half-back was perhaps the most overt statement she made today. Let’s make “almost” become actuality.
Marshall 14 disposals and 6 marks
Boyd 7 and 2, and zero score
Good work, Dani!
(Dani also had Kendall, below, while Boyd did her ruck time)
