Vinyl LP's & 45's

Mine are Ascension Summoners. Little operation from SA. I love them. Big old 70s style floor standers.

As far as speakers go though, market place is really the best. Second hand hifi is chock full of bargains.

Looks like we got it downunder as a single, but not in the US.

Nice.

I’m just upgrading from some Krix (also SA) floor standers.

Saving up for some KLH Series 5, which I’ve not seen come up second hand. It’ll be the last set of speakers I ever buy.

Oh mate. Lovely speakers. Can’t go wrong with those. Absolutely beautiful.

Anything with that 70s era hifi design I’m a sucker for.

But it made the Billboard Rock chart…
I assume that’s just from radio airplay of an album track.

I guess so, but not sure how the ratings would’ve been calculated.

But you couldn’t go very far that summer without hearing tracks from this album and Nevermind in every shop, bar or radio station.

Neil Young’s (+ Pearl Jam as his backing band) Mirrorball getting a spin after lunch. Been looking forward to playing this one for a long time.

@BAAKKEERRRR i picked up a sealed reissue of Curve’s Cuckoo which had been marked down from (currency converting) around $65 to around $40. Still toying with whether or not to peel off the shrink and add it to collection, or sell it on at some point. I love the first few EPs and DoppelgƤnger has the two big singles, but I’ve just never been sure if I like/need Cuckoo or not. Is it a grower?

Nice score!

It’s pretty good, but definitely a step down from DoppelgƤnger. Follow-ups to ā€œbigā€ albums generally go one of two ways: a complete U-turn, or more of the same, just not as good.

Cuckoo is probably the latter…

I’m confident that you will enjoy it very much. Great album.

Yeah, they definitely had a knack for writing the same kind of song again and again. I dig Missing Link, but streaming the whole album again this week it wasn’t really grabbing me. Seems to be rated online, so maybe I’ll just flip it.

It’s a real gem! The reissue has been a long time in the making. It’s been on and off Neil’s to do list for a long time.

It does tickle me that vinyls rating system is good means very very bad.
