I know this is not strictly within the thread title’s parameters but Peter Jackson’s Beatles documentary on Disney is fookin’ brilliant. The first ep is something like 2 1/2 hrs and covers just the first week of their time in the studio. Not a moment wasted and all in glorious stunning HD! Do yourselves a favour.

Awesome, been looking forward to it.
That’ll be my downtime show now.

I dunno if anyone here likes Endless Boogie, but their new record is fantastic. And its currently getting played at silly volumes in my shed post brewery pints.

After some advice here. I have the opportunity to purchase 25 albums for $150 (see attached photo).
Is this collection worth it, or should I beg off? I know financially it isn’t a bad deal at $6 per record, but musically I’m not certain.

I am not buying these as a collector so not worried about the ratty covers on a few (Rumours), but to listen to. I am assuming at this stage that all of the vinyls are in at least good condition as I haven’t seen them yet.

Hunky Dory and the two Elvis Costello albums are must haves imo, and probably great value in that bunch also, but I don’t know enough about the others.

Was my uninformed opinion as well.
Those three would be money.
I don’t know what Gaye goes for, but I’d imagine Jones would be valuable to the right buyer.

Roxy Music, Tom Petty, Al Green, Sade plus Bowie & Elvis Costello & Grace Jones & Fleetwood - yeah I could do that. Check the vinyl - not work nuffink if that ain’t great!!

So, drove up to Perth to pick them up in 36 degree heat with no air con. Absolutely sweating my balls off. So about 3 albums had a largish scratch each, and they all show some signs of use, but hoping after a bit of a clean that the majority are ok. None of Bowie, Mac, Petty or Costello had issues that I can remember, but I’m hot and I’ll wait on a final verdict. If I get a bit of hiss and pop, I can live with it, so long as it doesn’t dominate the music.

Looks a good buy to me, musically, as long as key albums aren’t damaged.

Ahhhhh quiet satdee nite.

Not likely with those speakers.

It’s nice down low too. The old amps have that magic loudness switch. Enhances it nicely down low, and gives it a really nice rich tone

Tried to find an old reteo tower cabinet and could not for the life of me find one so I made one. I’m going to try to get some of the wallnut laminate and maybe make something for the records to go next to the cabinet. I’ll probably make it the exact same height so it looks like it was designed that way.

That 70’s/early 80’s gear looks so good.
Big switches, knobs , VU Meters.

Love it, alot.
The Silver is mint :ok_hand:

Not exactly cheap acquiring 2nd hand gear like that still in good working condition.

My old man has one just like this, but less dials.

The tactile response on the switch is very nice.

Only criticism I have is…why do you have things sitting on top of your speakers? Don’t the get launched?
