Nah the cheif financial officer makes the call on that

I got the same issue.

Apparently this is the new Indoor Plant stand, from Krix.

Good brand.
South Aust company I believe.

I’ve noticed their speakers being used in a number of cinemas, particularly Gold Class.

I hope there’s a doily underneath that pot plant, at the very least ???

Yes the Krix are from SA. And have provided plenty of good service at high volume prior to kids. There’s supposed to be something under the plant. But I’ve given up. The struggle is real.

Evidently they do a fair few commercial theatres/Gold Class etc.

Took a while to arrive, but got it this morning.

First vinyl I’ve bought in two decades, methinks.

Went to a local second hand store this morning not expecting much, walked away with 7 albums for $70 including Sunnyboys - Sunnyboys (Sunnyboys – Sunnyboys (1981, Vinyl) - Discogs) and Individuals (Sunnyboys – Individuals (1982, Gatefold, Vinyl) - Discogs) and The The - Infected (The The – Infected (1986, Vinyl) - Discogs). All 3 are VG+ and to say I was chuffed is an understatement. She originally wanted $15 per open to negotiation, so when she dropped to a tenner each I couldn’t throw the money at her quick enough.

I’ve started keeping an eye out in some op shops and all i ever notice are vast amounts of classical and obscure 1970’s single artists, lol.

Can certainly be like that, although I did find one half of the Beatles Rock 'n Roll Nusic without a cover in one bin. Cost me two bloody dollars.

I guess i can now start keeping an eye out for old hifi systems too !

(my wife’s gonna kill me).

I’ll be getting my old late sixties hifi back for Christmas.

There’s actually my Grandparents old turntable and speakers still at the ā€œfarmhouseā€ but last time i had a brief play with it i couldn’t get it to work. A more concerted effort now needs to be made next visit.

Bloody hell…
Post #3 of the thread (the image has expired now). More than five years ago, my parents gave it to me…and now after no interest from hi-pages and many specialist hifi fixerers in Melbourne, I’m finally getting it back in working order.
I was told the turntable’s ā– ā– ā– ā– , the wiring’s ā– ā– ā– ā– , the speakers are ■■■■…

And a place in Horsham have fixed it for me, probably the same shop it was bought from.
Took them four weeks, but that seems pretty good to me.

btw…
Would this be worth restoring?

I’m guessing probably not.
It’s been in disrepair for decades.
My brother and I saved up our own money (delivering junk mail) to buy it.
It was pretty damn good at the time.

Not…you know…Tom Cruise’s dad’s level, but still pretty damn good.

Edit: actually the one we had was a five band GE, but otherwise very similar.

Local tip shop

$30 - $40

Well…yeah.
The turntable is the wrong way round.

I’d still buy it though.

Edit: changes perspective ohhhhhh.

I’d definitely buy it.
And get in trouble.

You guys should check out multisonic in high st thornbury (there’s probably loads more places). Got your storage needs covered with options. They also had this mad coffee table that you slide the top back to reveal mirror lined a bar that holds about a dozen bottles.

I played the sh*t out of ABBA Arrival on a player just like that at my grandparents place in the 70’s.

This post probably belongs in the Secret Shame thread

If I had to guess I’d say the radio and amp might work, but the turntable and tape decks would be stuffed (rubber belts more than likely perished).

You’d probably spend more getting it looked at than getting individual components off Gumtree or FB Marketplace…
