Vinyl LP's & 45's

I’d like Penny Century and Loot, don’t really need the others. The blue Penny Century reissue from last year got mixed reviews so I never chased it down.

Thunderhead may’ve been, but I don’t know if Futura has ever been released on vinyl. Do you know?

I’d have to check Discogs

Edit: these would both be on vinyl for the first time

In my local Salvo’s last week. A massive hipster must have died or moved to Chiang Mai or something.

Badly Drawn Boy, Hour of the Bewilderbeast
Beirut/RealPeople, March of the Zapotec / Holland
Sufjan Stevens, Carrie and Lowell.

Covers and albums all mint condition. $2 a pop.

For some reason the Beirut one seems to go for around $100. People are weird.

Picked this up the other day.

I’d just like to say thanks to my old man for having the narrowest taste in music in history.

Took me this long to know how good this is or that it even existed.

Glad to know I’m not the only Graham Parker fan on this forum!

This was his third album and continued the fine work of his debut “Howlin’ Wind” and follow-up “Heat Treatment” (both in 1976). He’s made many more excellent albums since.

Parker’s backing band on his early albums were The Rumour, who released records in their own right which are worth tracking down. When Fleetwood Mac released “Rumours”, they countered with an album called “Max”!

Along similar lines, Nick Lowe released an ep called “Bowi” in response to David Bowie’s 1977 album called “Low”.

I really only know Life Gets Better, Don’t Ask Me Questions, and the Mona Lisa’s Sister album, which I like very much.

Bonnet did a version of It’s all Over Now Baby Blue too, didn’t he?

Are you mixing up Parker and Bonnet?

Yep, quite right… I am indeed.

Cheers, I really like it. I’ll be picking up anything I find :+1:t2:

Today’s day-off exercise is to make a decently mastered CD copy of Models’ Pleasure Of Your Company vinyl.

The commercially released CD of it is woeful… thin and tinny…

I’ve always wanted to try needle drops of stuff I don’t have digitised. What software do you use?

Apple Logic Pro… same software I use for recording my own songs.

You can get by using Audacity (freebie software). It’s just a bit limited in its editing/mastering functionality…

Thanks, I did try it years ago and may still have the free software. I think it was called Wavepad or something.

Saw them live at Festival hall one of my favorite concerts.

If it helps I have this- different slot-in cardboard covers you can interchange. Also got the Disco 2000 orange 7" with the lovely Ansaphone on the B side.
