On the Ebola, My missus had never heard of Ebola until a couple weeks ago and then this outbreak occured and she's been following it an updating me. It's been good fun. I keep saying things like awww after that pizza I feel like my organs are hemorrhaging. Or when she wakes me up to watch our daughter so she can go out, I say aww man I was up til 5 am and she say why and I say couldn't sleep coz my eyes were bleeding. Like I say fun. It's like all the Ebola concern from when the rest of the world first heard about it back in the day.

Still exists and still bad. Have had a number of people in our ICU this year, young people with out other medical conditions. Vaccine for it is included in the flu vaccine now.
Good news for Freetown residents. The Ebola runaway handed herself in. And then promptly died. Bad news for Freetown residents: her parents (part of the crew who "stormed" the hospital to "rescue" her) now appear to have the virus and goodness knows how many others.

For those with an interest in such things, Africans have long been terrified of hospitals linked with Ebola. With good reason early on. The original outbreaks in Zaire and Sudan were amplified massively by the hospitals/health system itself due to the poverty of their systems. Re-use of syringes, lack of even rudimentary barrier medicine equipment, lack of hygienic linen etc etc meant that those reporting to hospital with minor issues stood a huge chance of never coming out alive. The staff also paid an horrendous price in fatality levels. The villages soon worked out that the hospitals and clinics were a death sentence. Burial and grieving customs unfortunately also contributed greatly to the epidemics, particularly in Zaire. Bodies would be retrieved , taken home and "cleaned" for communal grieving.
As far as I know, Ebola can't exist in anything but tropical climes, so should be no fear of going world wide pandemic. Tom Clancy, in one of his novels, built a story around a group of terrorists that harnessed some boffins and an Ebola riddled corpse and managed to concoct an air-born version of Ebola that could survive temperate climes and was promptly dispersed in sports stadia etc with devastating effect. A good read.

Actually the Koran does specifically say to either subjugate, exile or kill "disbelievers". Just that some focus more heavily on the killing part. ISIS this time actually told all the Christians to either convert to Islam, flee or die: they all chose to flee.

Yes, the Quran says that, but not in that context. It refers to killing only in occurrence of war: as in self-defence. For example: Gaza retaliating to Israel's strike and vice versa.
However, the ISIS have intentionally mis-intepreted that and used it as an excuse to behead and murder innocent and helpless civillains.

The claim is that this only relates to war however this is not what the Quran says, that is what the moderates claim (which is fair enough) but is not what the extremists claim. they use it to justify the killing of non-believers. And I am not attacking the Quran or saying people are evil for reading it or attacking Islam at all. Just showing what it says in the same way as you lot point out what the Bible says. How people interpret what they read is why we have had endless bloodshed over the last few thousand years, Christian or Muslim.
