its nice to get noticed.

K Langdon said last night that D Solomon is one of the preferred three candidates along with P Sumich and J Longmuir for the head job at Fremantle. The head job.

it’s even better to hear he’s even more responsible than just a line coach for whatever the hell it is the Suns were doing.

Jock McHale assisted by Jeans, Norm Smith, Clarkson and Barassi would find it difficult with that list though.

TRB v2?

Is this post factual, wishful thinking, or just ■■■■ stirring?

Oh great. Now he’s going to undermine the well thought out succession plan so he gets the top job.

I hope by the end of next season we have Rutten, Cara and Solly duking it out for the gig.

The Suns started the season well. maybe we’re bringing him for the first 8 weeks and that is it

I know you can’t judge a book by it’s cover, but my money is on Truck and Solly fighting it out for the title of ultimate successor. Sorry Cara.

GC are for the most part like playing a VFL side up against an AFL

There is a lot of ordinary players there and they play the kids a lot also.

I’m not sure someone’s coaching credentials should just be assumed as zilch based on the cattle at their disposal

Surely got to give him and the club in their consideration of him as an option some credit.

Bolton came out of the best system and proved he was shithouse. Being at a successful club doesn’t have to be all and end all

Gold Coast have had a lot of high picks, so the fact they have a lot of ordinary players should be down to who? The recruiters, the coaches, the whole club?

I’m not writing him off. But I think it’s fair to be much more nervous about Solomon’s appointment than Caracella’s

High picks mean squat if they just play a few years and then leave or especially when have no quality senior players around them.

Think of all those who’ve left that club of recent times and who’ve they’ve replaced them with

Dion Prestia for Anthony Miles doesn’t cut it

Tom Lynch for a first year Ben King doesn’t either

Of course Caracella is highly credentialled but if Solomon is taking our fwd line he’s significantly more experienced than the outgoing both with AFL playing and coaching in mind.

And he’s got one of the best in business for ball movement / fwd structure in Caracella there setting the plan in place.

They’ve still got a lot of high picks on their list even though some have left.

I understand your points and I like your positivity. I’m not going to be running around potting him. I’m just nervous about this one.

Well, we blame Dodoro for that when we discuss it here.

That’s debatable. Maybe we need to point @Ants and @JBOMBER to the Gold Coast thread and let them go at it

Really?

Clubs have been poaching players off them for years. That club’s doing a terrible job with the talent they’ve got (and always have had!!)

Dixon, Lynch, May, Saad, Zac Smith, Prestia, OMeara, Matera, Scrimshaw, Lyons, Bennell, probably Martin this year, etc etc etc.
