Left Essendon - Alex Morgan

Won’t see next year on our list. Body is not up to it. Looks like two years without any presence.

Alex Morgan will be cut at the end of the year! no game for his first year at Essendon.too injury prone

Not a knock on Morgs as hes been dogged by injuries but… Shouldve picked Matho…

And we had absolutely zero interest in.

Yes because clearly we were so close to picking Mathieson when we repeatedly overlooked the bloke (along with every team in the league, twice)

Uhhh isn’t that the point? He was on the table and we opted for someone else - clearly we didn’t want him. SJ is saying that we should have.

Who cares? we got the Morgan pick by trading Melksham. Worth it just to get rid of Melksham.

Melksham was the Redman pick. We got the Morgan pick in a downgrade as part of the Carlisle trade.

We get Mathieson, then we don’t get one of Clarke or Mutch. Let’s wait a bit (and see Morgan injury free) before jumping to conclusions.

Morgan would be a great asset if he could string some games together at VFL level. Was ordinary today though.

Great pun

So Alex Morgan doesn’t have a hammy.

Apparently he felt tightness which was related to an old injury which involves some tendon damage.

JC says he is in training and thinks he will play this weekend.

I wonder if it is anything like the injury to Hird’s hamstring which he managed throughout his career.

Get him some of that Good ol Calfs blood.

Geelong defender Max Rooke was sent to Munich and successfully treated for a severe hamstring injury prior to the 2007 AFL finals.

As you should be.

Geelong can get away with that stuff.

We get fined $2M, lose draft picks, lose coach, effectively lose 5 seasons…

Sounds like a difficult situation to manage. If he can’t distinguish between the nerve pain and muscle damage, do you take him off or leave him on and possibly tear the hammy badly? Not a good situation for a player whose weapon is pace.

Spot on. This is the problem.

Ever since he has walked into the doors at the club he hasn’t run uninhibited and at full intensity. Without this, he’s in strife.
