I wonder if Brad will make him wait for 2 years to get a game if we pick him up?

Used to being the inside 50 target, tick.

To be fair I think they actually did invest a lot of time in Mac Andrew compared to a lot of other NGAs where clubs just go lucky. Did the bulldogs do anything to develop JUH? Serious question I really donā€™t know if they did. I thought Qyanor was another where in this instance Collingwood did actually develop him at all.

Judging by the doco the bulldogs did a fair bit of work with Lual and we snatched him so swings and round abouts I geuss

Jake Kelly will be getting first crack at small forward position in 2025.

Will take about 10 stinking games from him before heā€™s moved outta there.

I wouldnā€™t write off Zurhaar either. An upgrade on a fast declining Stringer

Kano. Langford. Ainsworth
Zurhaar. Caddy. Gresham

Kako basically plays exactly like someone we are missing.

Painfully missing on our list. Thats great news.

Even if hes projected in the end say 20-30 range and we have to use our first cos some cheeky bid comes early.

Brings into question the future of the Davey boys, Jye M and Tex W

Stringers kicked 8 more goals than Zurhaar this season.

I really dont see the appeal of Zurhaar other than much needed forward half depth.

I know it shouldnā€™t be an issueā€¦ butā€¦ can he kickā€¦?

Alwyn isnā€™t a small forward

Maybe the AFL will tighten the rules about eligibility for the NGAs.

I dont know what it is right now but for example boarding a kid from a location thats either remote or theres no decent local football for them to play in. Ie they are coming from a long way back before they start training with an afl club.

Perhaps a bit like those category of rookies who havenā€™t played football by a certain age.

In exchange for rewarding clubs with priority access.

I think theres probably two groups of players.

Indigenous and remote - where they grow up loving footy but have family, cultural location etc issues which make getting to the AFL very hard.

Migrant background - they become interested in the game but they have no family guidance on how to play the game or get good at it.

Eg theres no dad, uncle etc helping with some additional coaching or support.

What they all have is potential which is why clubs would pour effort into them.

Guelfi going home would likely be a good thing, an extra third round pick would help for Points for Kako, and we either get a pick before he is selected or trade out our first for a future first and match with second/third rounders etc.

If AFL bring forward future picks 2 years then
2024,2025,2026 first rounds + Guelfi to Eagles for H Reid
End up with Reid & Kako added to side.

Is he rumoured to leave?

I thought Guelf was contracted

Heā€™s not contracted for next year.

Caldwell since signed, or imminent signing of 4 year deal.

Fkg pumped about this, in my opinion the 2 players we needed from last year + this yearā€™s drafts were Caddy and Kako. Seeing them both play a lot as juniors I couldnā€™t help but hope luck fell our way, such brilliant news.

Canā€™t wait to see Kako greeted by Caddy after joining our list!

Reading Twomeys form guide this morning Kako is kind of in the frame for our likely first pick anyway. Late first round and we will have an earlier one. Probably 10-14

Heck we may even trade back and collect two firsts with a club like Sydney if we can match a bid on him in the teens

Good highlights, low centre of gravity etc. NEED

Kako certainly appears to have some qualities that we lack & it will put pressure on the small forwards on our list.

Itā€™s certainly going to be an interesting offseason with the delistings. There are certainly less obvious choices than in prior years.
