-they remove headrests when filming in cars. Obviously better sight lines, but it looks stupid and it’s illegal/unroadworthy.

• when there’s a huge event that they need to update the audience they’ll show it on a news broadcast ‘missing person / plane crash / end of the world’…once they get the message, the person goes and switches the tv off.

• everyone in America buys groceries, with a baguette or French stick loaf sticking out of their paper bag.

I remember going to a Woody Allen film in NYC. It was about him trying to be one of the mainstream, a crisis of identity, to merge into the Gentile world, adopt their lifestyle. The audience roared laughing when he bought white bread and a big jar of mayo. I had to get friends to explain it to me.

It’s bullshit.

If I’m having a meeting, I only need this specific group for a reason. No more no less.

Update: I’ve met the bloke; he’s originally from Spain and his name is Angel.

He formerly lived in Thailand, where “nangfa” means angel. So there you go!

Angel is a lovely fellow and has offered to cook me up an authentic seafood paella.
