Citylink only 80km/hr, by day. Isolated. Self regulates speed during peak hours. Multi-lane former âfreewayâ that transitions to the Calder Hwy 100km/hr (presumably because of the addition of shoulders).
Sunshine avenue, also 80km/hr, has bus stops, exit turns in both directions and a bicycle lane!

These lower speed limits are popping up everywhere, as you probably know there are fairly long sections of the Princes Hwy out of Melbourne towards Drouin that are now 80 kph and various other main roads that now have 80 kph sections. The unintended (although obvious) consequence is that traffic is now being directed by Google onto minor roads as they now offer a shorter travel time.
It seems to me that a couple of serious accidents and a double fatality may have been caused by Google directing traffic onto an unofficial bypass and then back onto the main road and in the case of the highway two tourists died when they didnât see the semi coming on the highway (at an intersection with very good sight distance).
