What annoys you? Extra time

Seeing you really have nothing to lose, ask hard but polite questions of the interviewer and for higher money. You never know the job may become more attractive ! In any case, use it as a confidence boost trial. When I was a recruiter, I used to stress with applicants that if you don’t ask then you not receive.

Here are some possible questions you may encounter in your interview and how NOT to respond, @em2009.

1 - Where do you see yourself in five years? “I’d say my biggest weakness is not listening”.

2 - The position requires a responsible person. “I’m your woman. In my last job, when anything went wrong, they said I was responsible”.

3 - What is your greatest strength? (30 minutes later ) “I’m very comfortable with silence”.

4 - Would you be willing to relocate? “Of course. Where would you like me to sit?

5 - Why did you leave your last job? “It was something my boss said”. What did your boss say? “You’re fired”.

6 - Can you perform under pressure? “No, but I’ll give Bohemian Rhapsody a go”.

Glad it’s working out for you, I have had almost the opposite experience.

Not actively looking.

See an amazing role pop up, but usually these are internal hires. Nek Minnit I get a request on LinkedIn to meet for an interview. I respond within about an hour.

2 weeks go by. Crickets.

2 weeks go by. Finally arrange an interview. They ask for my resume etc.

Interview goes well, they say I can go through to the next round, and send me a link to ‘apply’. Thought this was odd, given they had my details, and I’d already done the first interview.

Follow the link complete all the stuff in Wrokday. (unbeknownst to me it hasn’t saved)

2 weeks later I follow up. Crickets

1 week later I follow up. Crickets

1 more week later I follow up to thank them for their time, and assume that I am not continuing in the process.

I get an almost immediate response which was basically ‘who dis? We don’t have any record of speaking with you. Just follow the link in the website…’

So deflating. It’s 50/50 my fault my application didn’t save. But just the whole process, for quite a senior role at a blue chip firm, after THEY contacted me.

Anyway, my current role is decent…just want a better one.

The interview went really well. Bloke thought I was great and wants me to meet more of them next week.

When the recruiter reaches out I’ll say it’s not for me. Way too small workplace for me. Their whole IT department is half the size of my current project.

Good experience though and big confidence booster.

The day after show day down here in Tas is the day you do all your planting of tomatoes and such like. Todays that day. She who must be obeyed has just spent a couple of hundred bucks, as per normal, on plants and soil type stuff to give us a crop worth about 50$ compared to Coles. It’s healthy and keeps her happy but WTF??

All for the bargain price of $200.

Take the win.

When the wife asks you ‘are you ready for a dirty weekend?’ And she’s order half a cubic metre of soil to be delivered.

Is it dirt cheap or does it cost the earth?

I actually did seed raising (donated seeds) this year and have been composting, seedlings are just about ready to go in, been getting the soil ready over winter.

Zero extra cost  , actually I bought some seed raising mix so $6.00 dollar cost

Neighbour and their :cat:.

Every night it is over in our yard :poop: along the fence line. It has also been sitting on our alfresco annoying our cat who stays inside. Its annoying as we have artificial grass and a baby who we take outisde and dont want it to risk crawling and handling cat ■■■■.

I went over to speak to them. They say sorry and will keep it inside. Next night, it’s back.

I call council and they issue a reminder that in our council area, cats have to be on your own property and inside at night.

2 days later its back crawling along fences and still :poop: in our yard.

I take a photo of said cat and go back over to the house and this time demand that they follow council rules as everyday I am cleaning up their cats mess. The husband this time comes up to me and says “how do you know its our cat?” I show the photo.

He then proceeds to say “its cruel to keep a cat indoors and other cats are roaming the street”. I say you can come and clean its ■■■■ then. He laughs. I reply that if I see it I’ll trap the little ■■■■■■.

They shut the door on my face.

…and don’t feel bad about it. Cats have no place in Australia.
