Work update from me for those following the previous story.
I think I’ve gotten myself into a good position.
I proceeded with further interviews for the job I applied for. They love me, of course, and I’m about a day away from formal offer in writing. More money and I don’t need to start until February after my overseas trip.
Told my existing place to match the offer $$$. Find out about that tomorrow.
so basically I think I can play both and buy myself some time for the next few weeks before I need to make a decision either way.

I know this one bloke a builder. Puts one on his hilux wherever he goes. Clambering all over building sites…er building. Somehow in his name so it’s fraudulent too. And he’s a complete tool.(pardon the pun)
■■■■■ me to see people using them without a genuinely disabled or elderly person in tow.
Don’t forget the ‘only x amount of hours, days to go on black friday deals’ emails to come!

Don’t be the guy ranting at a vet with PTSD and multiple other mental illnesses because you need to get your noodles 14 seconds quicker, it’s not a good look.

But you would be kidding yourself if there aren’t people who rort this system.
And for a disabled permit you do have to prove you have issues (or a doctor signs off on it) walking I think 400m.
The bloke I saw is a builder putting it on his work truck.
Its meant to prioritise those who really need it

I don’t doubt there’s rorts. But there’s also valid cases where people have them without having a visually obvious physical disability - and personally I wouldn’t presume.
EDIT: also - just clocked - are you saying you know a tradie who actually parks a vehicle in a parking spot (rather than on a footpath, driveway, flower bed etc) ?

Could be cognitive/serious mental health.
But there’s also dozens of physical conditions that can qualify you that aren’t visually obvious.
Yeah look I view them as mobility permits.
If your clearly ■■■■■■■ mobile your taking the spot of someone who isn’t.
Then you’re not working with all the information. They’re called mobility permits but it also extends to people who have cognitive issues (ie way finding, having the spot right out the front genuinely helps) or issues with crowds or exertion.
You’ll also find those spots are nearly always over catered. By design.
