I admit, I try not to judge however I have family members who have the disability card on their windscreen because their parents need it and they obviously drive their parents around, but will still use the spot even if their parents aren’t in the car.
You get double the allocated time so even if you want to leave the card displayed, dont take up disability spot, just use a normal spot.
Generally speaking apple does this way better than Google or Microsoft.
