I usually find the planes a blessed relief after the airport interior. Planes are somewhat hot, yes, but it pales into insignificance compared to the 65 degC that most airports are…
Woolworths makes the list!
Sneaky buggers now adding a $2 surcharge for click and collect on Sundays and public holidays.
3rd world problem, I know but for many families who do a pantry reset and shop on a Sunday, what’s an extra $80 odd dollars a year ontop of the $2 they charge if you want the groceries in bags.
Their execuse is to cover the workers who work those days and to make back the money they pay in the Sunday rates and Public holidays..
Would have thought if they did that, why dont they do a blanket $2- for those who walk in store then and pay at a register? Why slug those who do it online?
Also they deducted the Sunday rates from double time to time and 1/4… ontop of shutting over half the registers.
Double dipping much
You think it’d be easier to hid the cost over the full 7 days.
No doubt it’s one business unit trying to increase their P&L
My FIL works for them and he said it’s joke that they believe the general public would by their bs.
He said that Woolies tried justify that they employed more click and collect people to do the online order. The store he worked at has not employed a single additional click and collect person, instead they just used current people as they removed 10 manned registers and kept 4 (but only ever use 1 or 2 in busy periods).
Its because they (woolies HQ) trying to recoup money they lost when they lost a mass lawsuit for not paying overtime to manager level for years.
Knowing someone relatively high up in Woolies and she said it’s actually a bit of a levy to cover some payouts they had to do.
Any business that gets fined or has to payout people will always attach some sort of levy to recover costs.
I know we introduced some levies during COVID to cover costs and impositions placed on us by various states and those levies are still in place now. Was just easy to keep them in place and no one really takes any notice and thinks it’s just the standard price
Don’t tell Jim Chalmers he’ll wanna blame the inflation on that
Yep it was the back pay for not paying overtime to department managers/store/duty managers.. back then it was just expected that they do it at standard rate of pay (not extra) and part and parcel of job. I know some who got a nice little payout for years of doing it and not getting extra.
Should’ve sent the executive in charge of the ■■■■ up to gaol and sell their houses to pay the stolen wages
Should have just gone on “I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here” and sobbed about how it’s so hard to run a business and they made a genuine mistake and it was really hard on them.
Tell.WIM.
These new multi coloured toothpastes. 3/4 of the way through the tube and it comes out looking like a chewed up bubble gum.
Toothpaste is a rort these days.
$10 for a tube. The tubes have gotten smaller. The toothpaste gotten thinner and some of them just taste like chemicals.
Thanks George
Well what do you think they make toothpaste from ?
Toothpaste is primarily made with
40%water, abrasives (like silica or calcium carbonate), humectants (glycerol/sorbitol), fluoride, detergents (sodium lauryl sulfate), flavoring agents, and thickeners
Ohhhh hark at mister Colgate ![]()
My dentist put me on to a pharmacist only one which is like $15 per 60g tube.
I long for the $10 per 200mL tube days.
Ummm… everything is made of chemicals.
How about shadows?
