Nice pic.
i always manage to forget that Camporeale ever played for us, i create this little happy place in my mind where he is just another carlton flog, but once every couple of years someone here spoils my fantasy. thanks rolo, another 3 years of therapy wasted.
Honestly cannot remember a single piece of play he was ever involved in....
Murphy also brings up similar traumatic feelings, especially in combination with the infamous '1999 siren' photo....
These have always been amongst our finest threads.I miss these threads. I remember the days where there was only one forum, and we had the Greg Baum thread.
So why is it they get deleted?
Because they used to quickly devolve into soft-core ■■■■?
Or maybe the mods just got sand in their thong.
One of those.
i copped a three monther for starting one [/hardcore]

murphy i can kind of cop as a journeyman and for the goal he kicked against WC in the hird/mcclaren game. also, milking the free from phil read just before half time in the 2004 elimination for being late and high sent the melbourne fans around me in the MCC totally mental and led to a healthy lead going into half time, gold (he was generally pretty good in his first year actually). ah the 2004 elimination final, fond memories, ■■■■■■ good game.
Thread was way better back in the days it was rated NSFW

I, on the other hand, absolutely refuse to admit that what's his name ever played for us.

Was a darn good game. I remember being massively buzzed afterwards. I was also in the MCC (i remember we were in the ponsford stand that year due to the renovations) I also have a distinct memory of Adam Yze attempting to roost a long shot on goal at the Punt road end in the dying moments that had all the melbourne fans prematurely up and celebrating like it was a match-winner, only for the kick to either not make the distance and be marked on the last line of defence or for it to fade off for a behind (I can't quite recall).
The Demon's last 5 years of misery has made me forgot just how annoying dees fans in the MCC were.... back in day.

in many ways i remember that game more fondly than the 2000 GF from the point of view of a pure football going experience. The 2000 GF felt like a fait accompli going in, i really didn't think Melbourne were any chance of touching us and the only thing about it that really stands out in my mind is wallis punching an 18 year old kid in the throat on the members wing. I didn't mind when he ironed out mil hana (itself a pretty cheap shot) but i thought the green hit was pretty ugly and unnecessary. the result wasn't in any doubt from pretty early on.
by comparison the elimination final had so many swings in momentum and tension. i went with my best mate, who is a melbourne fan and was living in the UK in 2000, and his old man and his best mate (both Melbourne fans too). We all got pretty sauced and by half time the old man's best mate was point blank refusing to sit next to me many any more (he was serious too, i had enjoyed the 2nd quarter a great deal). then the members went collectively nuts in the 3rd and in the last i felt like i was the only one in the members going off my **** as hille piled on the goals (the mcc was behind those goals for that game because of the reconstruction) .
at the end of the game i offered my hand to my best but the red mist had well and truly descended by that stage and he refused it until his old man scolded him. i still give him **** about it. great day at the footy.
also IIRC that game was the first time i really saw something in jobe. a little moment on the contruction site wing where he gathered a half volley really well and pumped out a monster handball with excellent vision to set up a goal scoring opportunity.
Similar story for me - Ponsford behind the goals due to the reconstuction. Sat next to a mate who supports Melbourne.
I was out of my seat celebrating at the siren and by the time I looked back down my mate had done a runner. Great result.
WHERES THE TEAM

he never played for us. He played near us, at the exact same time, in the exact same place we were actually playing for those few years.
Camporeale never played for us, you got that!? He just hung around for a while and taught Jobe how to kick.
