Where do I get a large peice of wood?

I am wanting to get a largish peice of wood.  Preferably oak.

Something like 4cm x 50cm x 200cm.

I am flexible within reason,  but something like that would be good.

I plan to sand it back and use it as a bench top.

Just not sure the best place to go to source something like that.

So are you after dressed  or rough-sawn? If it's the latter just google timber saw mills, you'll pay less than a shop.

WTF?

lmgtfy.com.AU site takes you to google.com results

How can we ever find out how to search in Australian results now?

http://lmgtfy.com.au/?q=Australian+Results

Also your link says one thing but the actual link underneath doesn't go to the AU website.

Sarcasm has failed me!

Don't even know who I am any more.

Outlast timber.

I use them alot.

And there is:

Who have alot of stuff.

I think your best value bet, would be to get a bit of F17 (Mountain ash) it is used for structual lintel of sorts over garages etc.. it is called mountain ash, to be honest it is the same as tassie oak, but if you ask for tassie in that size you will fall over.

It is Kiln dried too and good to work with.

Not sure you will get 500 wide though..   you might have to invest in a biscuit joiner, and get a couple of 290's and join them.

I was going to try to post a funny picture of a big piece of wood, alas the search results were as expected not suitable for this site, stupid ■■■■ industry.
