the amount of buzzwords you just regurgitated is symbolic of why the team and therefore the club do not get it
I was disappointed yesterday, but well over it today. Just too many unknowns with a first competitive match simulation.
Too tall and slow based on what I saw yesterday
can copy and paste this for every preseason for the last 15 years.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Our excess funds were prioritised to paying down debt and lawyers unfortunately. Again, the implications of a distracted club with priorities in the wrong areas unfortunately (caused by saga).
We also just have so little in the way of star power and guys who are enjoyable to watch.
The thing is, if we played methodical, systematic football to the point that we were legit boring but we were actually fkg good then I could easily cop that!
But being sh¡t AND boring is quite the equation.
Saints weren’t full strength
Not an 11 goal lose with ambitions to play finals
Can’t help but wonder if some of our blokes have a case of learned helplessness. We seem to chuck the towel in pretty quickly.
Yeah, I tend not to aggregate the 20 years of mediocrity- it’s sunk costs right? No point getting teary over historical failure.
The best teams have 3-4 stars at least. We have none.
Define a star.
the best teams hae a strength that every can list off, our entire strength seems to be maybe we get the coinflip this time

Can we not play at RSEA and in Geelong anymore next pre season please
Why?
That’s the mental weakness our club has had since 2000, when it gets tough they give up
Because i would like to attend one time and meet some blitzers RSEA and Geelong too far away for me to get to
Kelly
Guelfi
Jones
Heppell
Hind
Weed
That’s a start

In my limited visual roughly an hour, I saw no semblance of a plan. We were always on the back foot, defending last line type. Saints once they got the footy swarmed
Something v wrong with our supposed plan(s) … The scoreboard even in a practice match hit out doesn’t lie…
This where I will disagree, to a point.
We have been through many coaches, and the players still don’t know what they’re doing.
Is it the coaches, or is it that the recruiters are continually drafting players who are unable to grasp a game plan, perform their role and/or put in the required effort to deliver it?
My money is the later.
No.

Its like we play stoned, i swear
We spectate a lot. Players watch a situation unfold standing still, not anticipating either a loss or a win, they just zone out and wait for someone else to do something for them to react to
I definitely saw far too many of them being flat footed around contests yesterday
no proactivity at all
