That’s what every club does.
Sure, I’m a gloomer but I’m leaning more towards when, not if.
I will be delighted if we lose to Geelong by 20 points or less and that margin is an accurate reflection of how competitive we were.
Surely it’s not just me that feels that a hiding is inevitable.
Friday was really disappointing to watch. I was really disappointed with how we got smashed with the bail out kick down the line. They just out marked us every time.
I’m going to give them a mulligan considering it’s February. We have to pick our very best available side and get within 3 goals of Geelong down the highway.
pre-season practice game means nothing ,wait for the real- preseason game, which also means nothing wait for round 1, nah we need to wait until round 6-8 before we can make a judgement call, which is too early so give it til the bye, well thats only half a season so we need to wait until the season ends.
Time will tell. It’s never as bad or as good as it seems
Wise words of Paul Brasher
That game is to show case what game plan and style you have implemented over the preseason, plus also to put other teams on notice that the fire in their belly’s is real and the players mean business.
That’s what practice matches are for, you always go out to play and with intent as a dress rehearsal for round 1.
You only get 2 goes at it before the season starts against proper opposition, now we have shown that we haven’t changed still a soft underbelly team
I think last year we waited 2 games before the season actually ended
whats the solution.
Peter Wright play CHF and play further up the ground to make those contests.
No Draper and no Wright effected our structure for sure.
No ridley stifled some transition from defence.
Jones took a few marks. but not enough.
That used to be Cox’s bread and butter.
Perkins another who id love to see do that
on the wing.
I hope it’s by more and the media start gunning for the players and coaches, going by what’s happened in the last 10 years it seems to be the only thing that gets us going.
Not a statement of fact, more so opinion.
Unless we were trying to send a message that we are so good, we wil take a swag of our better players off at half time, play people in positions that they won’t necessarily play in season proper …
Because we are sending a message that we are completely disorganised.
Lull the opposition into a false sense,of superiority, then smash em when it counts.
Scott has made changes since the end of last season.
He hasn’t changed effort and contested side of things - both poor
I really think ppl are going over the top with this commentary over a match sim.
You can only judge intent on a match for 4 points as you know both teams are going 100%.
When St Kilda went forward slowly eg from a mark and slow exit from defence, we zoned and they just took a short kick to someone leading into a space in the zone like falling off a log. Almost every time, our nearest player would be about 2 to 3 steps off getting there in time to make a contest. It looked so easy.
Keep compiling sh-t lists, keep getting sh-t results.
Agree on both points.
20 years and counting
And even then…
“BrAd HaS OnLY hAD tHeM for 1 PrOpEr PrESeAsoN U CaNt ExPeCt MiRaCLeS!”
Talk from the players pre season.
“We not going to stand for losses like that anymore”
“Every one has been working hard and we are the fittest we have been”
“Brad made it very clear if you dont perform you wont play”
Febuary rolls around and the first practice game they get flogged by 66.
We were lied to again by the players.
I’m convicned our players are incapable of learning.
