Weideman embodies how we played today, so I’ll nominate him.

We don’t have a player capable of being a top 10 player in the AFL. That’s a massive indictment on the bloke who has been responsible for the list this past 20 years.

That’s pretty good from 3 months before the draft!

Most of the posts so far have missed the mark by a fair margin. A “franchise player” is someone the club would go all out and do anything to retain. Someone who is a once in a GENERATION player. The equivalent of a “$100 million quarterback” in the NFL. Someone who you would stake the whole club’s financial and reputational future on retaining.

James Hird would have been the last we have had. Before him, maybe Timmy Watson. Before that, and since WW2 the only one you can say that about undoubtedly would be John Coleman.

We don’t have anyone ANYWHERE within a couple of orders of magnitude of that sort of player now.

Roberts will shine in a few years

Jack Clarke ? Ken Fraser ? TD ?

We havent had one in nearly 20 years.

A fkn generation without a superstar.

Pathetic recruiters.

The only ones who could have potetnially were father sons!

Thats all our recruiters are capable of.

Rubbish.
