So Bont and Petracca then?
That list is pretty flawed. What is the criteria for this? Which form? This year? Their entire career to this point? How many games do you need to have played, or played this year?
regardless, Iās pretty hard to argue
Weād need to know which jumper number has the highest sales to resolve this. I tried googling it, but all i could find was a report from 2017 which said Heppellās 21 was the highest selling (Tippa 2nd)
Who would it be now?
From the North melbourne game, it was Langford watch, all the kids looking out for him kicking goals etc,
But if walla had played, it would still be him, crowd just love him.
Tippa was more cult hero than franchise player.
Franchise players or marquee players should be players that fans from every other club want to play for their team.
We havenāt had one since Jobe at his peak.
Iād have Nick Martin and probably Caldwell in there.
The others who would be contenders are Durham and Perkins and Hobbs.
Then Cox, who I have no doubt would be in there if he hadnāt been injured, given theyāve named one KPB who is already 22, and the KPFs really only just started to impact.
Iām not convinced any on that list past the top 1/2 dozen are any guarantee to end up better than our guys.
Really though, the guys who are established as good lean towards 22yo. That was the draft picks we sent away for Shielā¦
Its 22 under 22. not 22 including those that are 22.
Please explain how Bailey Smith is there then?
Because theyāre morons
Thereās a whole heap older than Martin. Smith, Serong, DeKonng, etc etc
Was this last years list?
Martin was eligible, you guys just didnt vote for him. and he fell off back end of year due to being played ou of position or ātiredā.
The only two that were eligible to be voted on were Perkins and Martin.
Caldwell didnt even make the 22 in 22 squad.
Hobbs may be a chance next year, commentators love him.
next year in contention
Hobbs, Tsatas, Duzza, Cox, reid, perkins, (probably our best chances here)
Daveys, tex, Baldwin, mass, VOSS, menzie, Hayes, etc
plus our draftee (CaddY)
I think Nick Martin is the player that ticks most of the boxes at Essendon, as a franchise player.
Jake Kelly for mine.
Nick Martin
I think we have only really one of these players on our list who has the potential to be franchise.
Archie
No he isnāt, he has Alot of maturing to do.
We dont have one fkn player.
Its sad and pathetic and its all on our recruiting team.
