Who Wants To Be A CEO?

When’s everyone gonna start realising that every payout, every out of court settlement, every over paid underdeveloped recruit and so on costs you money.

Every time you sign up, every time you enter the bomber shop, every time you don the sash with cc details, that contribution might not be detailed in the financial report in the outgoing costs ledger but you are in every way financially supporting the clubs egregious administrative mis management and the cost of those decisions, both in fiduciary terms and also just looking like a bunch of pillocks.

It’s going to keep happening for a while yet.

Keep signing on if your comfy with that.

It was his position as Chair of COAH, not as a member of it.

I dunno about anyone here, but my employment contract clearly states that I must disclose any current or future roles or interests that may be in conflict with the values of my organisation.

It’s pretty standard at any level I would have thought.

Seriously mods?? What do I do about @Sameolds2010???

He attacks me all the time. Especially when I defend victims of violence.

He has also posted horrible things about my partner & mother before. And quickly edits the post, before any mods can see it.

Those are just the things I know. I am almost positive he attacks me on alt accounts too.

When are you going to realise that a high profile civil case will likely drag out for years and end up costing far more than 1 million dollars

I don’t think that really matters (if it was pro bono or paid).

There’s a case there and a reason why him being asked to leave caused a wider uproar around the community.

Just another 10-20 dollars from every Essendon member and the sponsors I suppose to pay him.

Barnham really blew it.

Just reckon it’s a shame if he’s a life long Essendon supporter he would do that to the footy club. Sure the club put him in an ordinary position but his church also seems to have put enough members of the footy club in an awkward position too.

I dunno.

If we welcome all sorts to Essendon that’s probably got to include the CEO right?

This club lol

I’m sure we already look that way to other clubs, but from my point of view, players and supporters look less pillock-y in red and black.

I have a friend who took a principled stand by cancelling his membership when we were actively advertising gambling on our official website, where they were seen by kids, and I understand that stand, which hurt him more than the club. I don’t understand people in an Essendon forum that actively encourage people to revoke membership in the club they support. The few people who do this are not going to make a big enough difference to force any change within the club at all, and if enough people did leave to financially cripple the club, how will that help our club be more successful?

Perhaps encouraging people to be more active in voting certain board members out or in, or contributing in other ways might have some positive influence.

Apart from Barham, were the other Board members aware of Dorothy’s role?
How did AT get appointed to the external review, for which I assume he was paid?
It was a conflict of interest on Dorothy’s part, as well as his.
Governance failure, she should resign from the Board. How did she get appointed in the first place?

Some seem to think it’s about the crusade, not the money. I tend to think it’s about the money. After losing his job at NAB in disgrace, then losing his job at Essendon so publicly, what are his chances of ever landing another job that meets his qualifications again?

I think Alex [he works in HR because he’s a people person] doing his job is the most dangerous of your stated options.

interesting approach if he tries to sue cos
A it will bring more attention to him, his religious beliefs
B will bring attention to how it became possible for him to glide into pole position when he was originally asked to do an audit on the joint
C surely his character will be brought up, and a whole bunch of NAB stuff would no doubt come out.

I mean sure for a quick cash grab it makes sense, if the club folds. If it doesn’t, I’m not sure his dirty laundry is going to be the selling point in garning public sympathy that he thinks it is.

If he does sue, and there is a pay out, that he is revoked from being a member of the club moving forward.

In the past 12 months, @Sameolds2010 made posts implying my mother couldn’t be sure I was her son, because she was promiscuous, and my GF worked at a brothel.

He then edits the posts, and sometimes deletes them.

What do I do about this targeted harassment campaign???

last time i spoke to a mod about similar stuff, they just said put em on ignore.

Just do that, it really is best for the sanity in relation to certain posters on here (yes i get the irony)

I have previously.

He just won’t stop. He is also getting more and more vicious in his attacks.

well then put them back on it permanately.
i know the system glitches every now and again, but 90% of the time you don’t have to see the stuff that’s posted.

and then when they switch to an alt account (you can pick them cos miracously when you stop replying to the previous cos of said ignore list, you start getting a new account following you around, surprising that   )

no one on this site is worth the mental hassle that comes from a certain subset of posters on here.

@Saucy I had one poster who was horrid to me so I simply don’t respond to anything they write nor do I respond to any comments made to me. I don’t have them on ignore, but I just totally ignore them.
