ESSENDON FOOTBALL CLUB

Club Mascot

The Club Mascot (Skeeta) is an integral part of the Essendon Football Club's fan engagement and fan development strategy. Each year, Skeeta appears at around 100 events in Victoria including match days, school visits, charity events, Auskick Clinics and other Essendon community initiatives. Outside of appearances, Skeeta also plays a major role in engaging with our young fans via social media and other digital content.

The successful candidate is a true entertainer and is able to execute a polished and engaging performance to a mass audience, while also being able to interact directly with an individual fan to give him/her a memorable moment that will last a lifetime. As a result, the ability to think creatively and improvise is critical, as well as a natural ability to build rapport with fans. The successful candidate is enthusiastic about becoming a mascot, with a desire to become the best performer they can be. This candidate has a passion for entertainment and must be able to adapt to performing for a wide range of audiences.

The role is contract based and will contain a mix of public performances and in-office content development. An hourly fee will apply and will be negotiated with the successful candidate. Hours per week can vary between 4 and 20 depending on the time of year. A more detailed schedule will be presented to the successful candidate, but attendance is expected at all Melbourne-based EFC matches (home and away), approximately 50 Auskick sessions between April and September and 2-3 weekly community events throughout the year.

I have a major gripe with Skeeta.

We are the god damn Essendon Bombers not Essendon Mosquitos.

Words of warning.

Even on a cold day, it's gets ■■■■■■ hot in the suit. The suit is made of fibreglass with the covering over it.

I can hear a career change calling for AN10...

Finally a role for Jetta.

Hirdy should do it.

I'd love to see the waiting room for the interviews. Humburgler with his resume and best shoes on.

Didn't it come down to a mascot dance-off for the position last time?

Finally a role for Jetta.

Sets himself for a cartwheel, stops, decides on a backflip, no no, changes to the cartwheel again, hesitates, maybe some juggling and then a  high-five with the kid on the fence…  wait maybe...

It doesn't say anywhere that they need be an Essendon supporter, I'd feel unclean getting a photo with anyone else.

Andy D's post CEO career, you know, because his kids love Essendon. He is regarded as a champion back flipper.

You seem to know quite a bit pazza, are you skeeta by any chance? Or are you trying to scare others away so you get a clean run at the job?

I wonder what happened to the old Skeeta. A mate of mine at work reckons he's gone off for a year at a prestigious school for mascots in Paris.

A new Skeeta is required because Leroy may be needed in the seniors more often this season.

I would love Robbo to do it. I will be first out with the Mortein.

Haha The last thing we need is headlines about our mascot man-handling kids.

Previous experience administering THYMOSIN BETA preferred.

Give it to Smythy!
