Who will our next coach be? A GREAT SCOTT!

Clarkson

Completely agree

Talk about manufacturing something out of nothing.

ā€œIt’s understoodā€¦ā€
Who is it understood by Mitch? You? And based on what? Case to even pretend you have a source? What a bullshit way to escape having to back up a claim.

ā€œā€¦meaningful dialogueā€¦ā€
Geez, the word meaningful is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. Meaningful could be as little as just general things like where the club sees the list, their direction going forward etc. It doesn’t necessarily indicate level of interest on either parties end.

ā€œā€¦and that will only increaseā€¦ā€
Will it? Says who? This sounds like an opinion dressed up to sound like a true statement, and based on nothing other than Andrew Welsh being a big fan (apparently!? I don’t know why Mitch thinks he is though, as he didn’t let me know why he thinks this.)

What a bunch of nebulous waffle. ā€œNew detailsā€ indeed Tim…

Mongrel - Scott and JDG combo!

That was Barham’s comment to be later clarified by multiple people

What can I say… …school holidays still

Imo it was ā– ā– ā– ā–  covering because we were being criticised for excluding potential coaches from the process.

I believe their first wish is an experienced coach, if they couldn’t get one, they have to settle for an assistant.

By clarifying it, they saved face for if they had to appoint an assistant.

They tried to play it off that Brown would know because he was with Scott at a Lions reunion on the weekend.

If we get Scott, Brown’s going to look more stupid than usual.

Has anyone listened to the guy who has been working with Danger? Dr Michael Gervais - He is a legend and he talks about recruiters in the NBA drafting kids dressed in suits vs kids with swagger, gold chains and tattoos. We need more tatts because they ā€˜own more moments’ After listening I knew Geelong would win and easy (had a little wager too)

I don’t mind the idea of Brad Scott. I’m not sure he necessarily needs to be our next premiership coach either. There is a lot of uplift he could bring to the Club that hopefully can see us resurface as a credible football operation.

Or the same thing, but we’re up by 38 and it’s not enough for him.

Getting rid of Facebook and Twitter 4-5 years ago was amazing for my brain cell count. I figure if I need to know anything trade-related on Twitter, Wanderlust will fill me in.

Sounds like he would be handy to scare the boys at quarter time. Hire him as an assistant.

Who coaches Norf?

Or Heppell on the bench, picking up the phone after he’s just turned the ball over, and copping the Majak Daw spray from a few years back :joy:

Brad Scott makes so much sense. He played for a tough Brisbane side under Matthews and also coached North to play a tough brand of football, which is something we haven’t managed since Sheedy. I think he’ll come in and set a high standard every preseason and every game, especially with a second chance in a different environment. For a club that has lacked mongrel for a long time, I’m sure that’ll be his main focus. He’ll hold anyone that doesn’t commit to running both ways or tackling with intent accountable.

If Scott is appointed at the end of the selection process, then this is the best coaching appointment since Sheedy given his strengths have been Essendon’s weakness for a long long time. There’s also no way people like Dodoro can involve him in club politics.

If Scott really wants it, then hopefully the panel will be impressed enough to recommend him.
