I agree with you, however im basing Rance being the number one defender in the comp by stats and afl experts. Hurley no doubt in my eyes is a better defender. All i was trying to argue is that you’d have to be stupid to reject Rance to come accross to the Bombers.

To be fair, if you’re just going to pluck names at Random and place them in a poll with no rules or arguments as to why only those 8 or so names have been brought up, then it’s not really a simple poll. It’s probably the exact opposite of a simple poll because of the lack of explanation as to what the hell ‘best clubman’ means. A simple poll would perhaps be something like ‘is this a thread/poll needed or relevant to this board?’ With the options of ‘Yes’ and ‘No’ and then ‘Hocking’.

Ok, I’ll break my rule.
We already have the #1 backman in the comp and he wears #18. To make matters worse, we also have the #2 backman in the comp but he is currently playing CHF for us.
We could get him.
Play Hooker back and Rance can play the Steinberg role (in the VFL).
He’d make the All-Victorian team and be the best VFL backman.
It’s a win-win for everyone in my book.
