Woosha – final moments or finals moment?

Brief appearance by the peanut brigade tonight at about 10 o’clock.

Most prominent peanuts absent. As usual.

He was brilliant last night. Fantastic performance.

Game plan was the old rope a dope trick.
Lay down last week, everyone writes us off, Freo think they’ve got the points in the bag then wallop.
Guaranteed final. The guys a genius.

This guy can’t coach regardless of result last night. Freo were horrible with their disposal, otherwise it could have been a completely different story.

Let’s see how we go next week against a good side.

This guy can’t coach regardless of result last night. Collingwood was getting ready for finals, otherwise it could have been a completely different story.

Still trying to work out what was wrong with Stringer’s hip and shoulder shepherd on the goal line to let Tippa’s goal sail through.

Hip and shoulder to the Freo player’s side/arm, wasn’t front on contact, wasn’t in the back, wasn’t high contact, ball was within 5 metres. WTF? :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

(Sorry, probably wrong thread.)

Has listened to BLITZ, got learnings and now has applied them.

You cant for much more than that.

The guy can’t coach, regardless of whether or not we won the 2019 premiership. Everyone knows this was the most open season in memory. And we got a good run with the umpires too. Maybe if he manages to win us back to back flags I MIGHT reconsider.

Thought his move of Ambrose on to Fyfe was a master stroke.

We also started with the right intensity which flowed on for the rest of the game.

Any win in WA is a great one. Now the real test of winning a final begins…

Could have, but wasn’t. Focus on the game that was played. Freo were off their game. They had chances to put scoreboard pressure on us, and they failed. Ambrose tagging Fyfe was a mater stroke, kept their star under control. All this in Perth which has not been a happy hunting ground, plus the trigger happy chumps and the home town decisions. The win was full of merit and Woosha deserves praise for getting the team back up and firing again after last week’s disaster. The pundits were predicting the demise of our season, but we live again. The coach deserves due recognition for his part in the victory.

Any win in the west is a good win. Give him 5 minutes of glory at least.

Wot?

I can’t bring myself to giving this guy any recognition. I just don’t see where this club is headed under him.

I just see a game plan that only works against teams that turn it over. This is not finals footy.

Essentially correct. See this space in a few weeks time. What we have seen over the last couple of seasons is that finals footy can take different forms. Getting those injured players back made a huge difference, with Hurley, Saad, Parish and Francis making great contributions. Down back the BeZerker made an auspicious debut, interstate no less.

A 100+ point loss which included conceding 21x goals straight followed up with a stirring interstate win. He’s lost the players alright…

I give him credit. Everytime he is under intense pressure, the team pulls out a win that week.

He just keeps on surviving

I think Smith’s article in which he speaks about Woosha’s demeanour and that he’d like to see him show a bit more emotion is informative. I think if he lets the players get closer to him then they may connect that 5% more which can make all the difference.

But it does seem obvious to me that Woosha wants the team to play for each other rather than the coach.
