West Coast coach John Worsfold is expected to announce he's standing down, with the Eagles set to hold a media conference on Thursday night to confirm the news.
Just last Saturday, Worsfold was confident of earning a new two-year deal with the club.
But his team's diabolical end to the year, in which they lost their last three games by a combined 214 points, seems to have brought about Worsfold's downfall.
The Eagles started the year as a premiership fancy, but finished 13th after managing just 13 wins.

Worsfold has been coach of West Coast since 2002, leading the club to eight finals campaigns and the 2006 premiership.
He also captained the club to two flags during his glittering 209-match playing career.
After Saturday's defeat to Adelaide, Worsfold said he was confident he had the backing of the board but there were lessons to learn from the recent run of results.
''It's a year that our club won't cop,'' Worsfold said after the loss to the Crows.
''We're not happy with it. There's a lot of lessons to learn out of it. That's the great thing.
''I have belief in what I can bring and that won't wash with a lot of people, that's fine.''
Didn't front the presser. Left it to the pres and CEO. They said he was busy picking up his kids from school. Eagles were halfway through their coaching review and due to report in the coming two-four weeks. Guess he jumped before he was pushed.
