Spaced was great.

Also: Shameless, anyone?

Number 6!

Great call on Extras as one of your honourable mentions too. Criminally underrated. The first two episodes of the second season (where he loses his soul because he is stuck doing a show he hates) are unbelievably poignant. Plus the second episode has that amazing scene with Bowie eviscerating him in the bar.

Well, no one has listed Grass Roots, so yes, shame Blitz shame.

(The other nine I quickly assembled have been mentioned at least once.)

Also I’m loving the love for Community in this thread. Amazing show. I’ve seen recently it’s finally becoming popular as it’s just moved onto Netflix.

Just remember that Annie is young, we try not to sexualise her

Any scene with Stephen merchant (and Barry) is too good for words

That episode with Sir Ian McKellen, the play… I mean, Gerveis has a long history of doing cringe well, but that final scene when he breaks character and starts addressing the audience… Man, that is just so hard to watch.

Daniel Radcliffe and his ‘johnny’ was farkin funny too.

Oh actually I just noticed from your list - Extras over The Office? I get it, but that’s a big call

  1. GOT (Except the final season)
  2. Breaking Bad
  3. Vikings (first 4 seasons)
  4. Dexter
  5. 24 (underrated)
  6. The Walking Dead
  7. Sopranos
  8. Banshee
  9. Big Little Lies
  10. Chernobyl

Then comedy’s

  1. Seinfeld
  2. Silicon Valley
  3. It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia
  4. Married With Children
  5. IT Crowd
  6. Chuck
  7. Everybody Loves Raymond
  8. 30 Rock
  9. Happy Days
  10. Get Smart

Other shows I’ve enjoyed include; Growing Pains, Gilligan’s Island, Simpsons, Mork and Mindy

Agree. There were a lot of trash filler episodes, but when this show was good there wouldn’t be any other TV shows to match it in the action/thriller category IMO

I don’t think so. I liked the Office, but I’ve never felt the need to go back to it at all.

But I’d still watch the fark out of Extras, so I guess that’s my reasoning.

They are both great.

06 Fast Forward

08 World of Sport (70s/80s)
09 Get Smart
10 Blankety Blanks (70s)

But jeez, it fell away. I might have lasted to the end of the second series. And I love baseball.

Oh yes.

And that 30 years has seen the character develop and nuance much the
same way as someone would mature over longevity. Ianucci and the gibbons brothers (as well as Coogan) may as well have created life if you ask me.

The thing that sets him apart is he’s the comedians choice - I’ve heard/seen written A Grade comics (and that twit Seinfeld) define him as the benchmark/reference point in any discussion.

I just wish he’d bring him over here for a tour

He was going so well also

I was stunned that I’d never heard of Alan Partridge until I dated a Brit in 2003. Was it ever shown on Aussie TV back in the day?

Geez, I forgot Blue Mountain State.
