Your TOP 10 TV Shows Of All Time

Yeah, at one time, Entourage and Dexter would’ve been way up there. But those bad seasons stick in the memory. Lost too.

So a get smart movie should work…

I’m watching them now having never seen them before. Like watching any old comedies (movies or otherwise), it’s best to watch them as period pieces.

It’s a fkn funny show.

Ha, it was around the same time. I guess we were trying to piggy back off the film’s ‘lack of success.’

The world at war I loved when I was a kid. Always got the theme music mixed up the ‘Summer of 42’ for some reason.

Different topic but similar style I loved the sports docs ‘Numero Uno’

Another not mentioned from working dog - a river somewhere.

They remade it a couple of years ago.

Pinky and the Brain > Danger Mouse.

Top 5 is enough
and yes 1 is Chinese and 1 is a bit girly, but how could you not love GG?
I’ve excluded great shows that are a bit dated now eg F Troop and X Files.

Seachange
Lang ya bang (Nirvana on fire)
Gilmore Girls
Coupling
IT Crowd

Catch Lang ya bang with English subtitles on YouTube - seriously recommend this. It’s a masterpiece.

Young ones have held its intent beautifully.

Is timeless the opposite of aged?

Ok I first thought to do two lists - comedy and drama, but followed another train of thought as I went and ended up with these categories instead.

10 Shows I Was Incredibly Invested In At The Time Of Viewing And Look Back On Very Fondly But Probably Won’t Watch In Their Entirety Again

  1. The Wire
  2. Lost
  3. Scrubs
  4. Stranger Things
  5. 30 Rock
  6. Rake
  7. Good Guys Bad Guys
  8. Parks & Recreation
  9. The Mole
  10. How I Met Your Mother

10 Shows I Thoroughly Enjoy Enough To Warrant Repeat Viewings

  1. Simpsons
  2. Seinfeld
  3. The Thick Of It
  4. I’m Alan Partridge
  5. Letterkenny
  6. Chapelle’s Show
  7. Brooklyn Nine Nine
  8. Peep Show
  9. It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia
  10. Veep

And an additional category… Shows That Didn’t Fit Into The Above Categories Because While I Would Never Make An Effort To Seek Out Episodes For Rewatching I Will Happily Sit Down And Watch If They Happen To Be On

  1. Spicks & Specks
  2. Late Show With David Letterman
  3. Taskmaster
  4. anything Shaun Micallef is in

There’s also shows I that I really like but didn’t include in the first two lists because I haven’t seen the entirety of them. Eg: Boston Legal, House, Blackadder, Black Mirror, Battlestar Galactica

I was definitely watching the original.

I’m Alan partridge has the two of the funniest scenes I’ve ever witnessed, one being the Bono impersonation and the other when Alan gets invited around to the “sex swappers”. The look on the blokes face once Alan twigs is pricelessly funny/sleazy/evil. I won’t you tube them as they might need context and familiarity with the characters involved.

Im quite surprised at the number of partridgean devotees. I have to explain who he is to most people.

The funniest scene from any tv show ever was when ted was explaining to dougal the difference between small and far away. I remember literally ”rotfl” at it before it was such a thing.

Actually while I’m on it Gareth in the side car with the swingers is all kinds of gold.

Ive nearly rounded out a top 5 scenes. I’m sure I’ll think of another.probably something with Dwight in it or Blackadder.

The opening scene of the first episode of Brockmire is worthy of inclusion in a best scenes discussion.

It was a very hard being an Iga ninja. You had to be good enough to fight the Koga ninjas, but bad enough so Shintaro always looked almost superhuman in his abilities. Tough gig.

VEEP was created by the same bloke that did Alan partridge - I might have to get round to checking it out

Oh, and Thrillseekers. “Special breed of Cat”

Giving how it’s endured over the last 30ish years across a variety of styles and mediums, it’s my pick as the best comedy character of all time.

Absolutely. Anything Armando Iannucci has been involved with has always been worth watching.

None either for spaced - I’d forgot all about it.
