You get the concept from the title and think, oh here we go it’s gonna be another one of these, but then the actual work he puts in to both the gags and the analysis is brilliant. I’ll have to check out the other ones he’s done.

Yeah, saw these a while back and thought of Baker straight away.

The Lenny Kravitz-bowl episode is friggin amazing.

It’s good to watch them in order too, as he has some superb running gags through out.

Edit; ok I’m watching the Weezer one again.

Cheers, will do! I’ll happily watch this one again.

Just watched the Weezer one again.

I had actually forgotten how good that was.

When he plays the songs over each other, I was just oh damn there it is, case closed.

Is Rod Serling the greatest TV writer in American history? He is certainly right up there, as this doco proves. Also good to see a lot of the actors in their younger days.

ohh. i still love Weeze

British Rock, the first wave.

have you watched any more?

I’ve been super busy and realised they need full attention, so just 1-3 so far.
This morning on the train I was listening to Pat as he just so happened to be on the latest Vinyl Guide podcast episdode. A week after Beato.

Three Doors Down Kryptonite is pretty funny.

When he gets random non-singers off Instagram live to do the ‘Yeaaaaaaaaah’ and it actually sounds better than the Three doors down guy… Man that’s funny.
@BAAKKEERRRR you need to get onto these.

@Paul_Peos @mrjez
I missed Jez’s original post about these, so it took me a while to work out what you were on about.

I just checked out the Beverley Hills one… some nice skewering of the Beato videos (I do quite like the Beato vids in moderation BTW…) Pity the bloke from the Weezer tribute band who tries vainly to defend BH…

Finnerty’s spot-on though… Beverley Hills stinks worse than an AGB after a night on the Guinness… Me hearing it for the first time must’ve been roughly akin to how you felt hearing Pretty Fly For A White Guy for the first time…

I had no idea what that song was, so it was a p.isser to have it introduced in this way.

Wow.
The booing of the halftime spectacular had me in tears. And the Blinds To Go Guy - what a cult hero.

I’ve gone deep into the Finnerty world now, loving the missions he goes on and rolling stories. Have you seen his Dead Man’s Trail song and then the covers people did of it?

Yep, I went pretty deep on Finnerty stuff.

The August is Falling band is a pretty funny story, he even got Beato in on it.

It’s also cool that he can actually backup his critiques. The guy can play.

Yeah, I love how he hears the song’s chords, figures it out instantly and then tells you what it sounds just like and what they could’ve done instead.

But that metal dude posting a slaying cover of Dead Man’s Trail floored me. It just rocked so hard, I’ve had it on a loop all week :joy:

This guy has some detailed stories to tell of very interesting people. Footnotes to history we might not otherwise ever hear of.

A cover version of a Dave Gilmour/Roy Harper track, Short and Sweet, and a decent one it is. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3OdC-WpoR8
